Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I went searching for it on RTTP and found half an event listing for it:


We all know that the Events page is just something to do to humor Rev. I think Liturgy are a bunch of stuck up nerds, but I would have liked to have gone to see their stupid nerd band play. Can someone please explain to me why this event was promoted on "Eventmoo.com" and not RTTP even though Liturgy is supposed to be a black metal band?

a buddy of mine went for The Ex, he said Liturgy was garbage and something like "if i was a big black metal fan i would hunt those guys down and tar and feather them".

How bad Liturgy sucks isn't the point. They're supposed to be a black metal band. There's how many BM bands in New England? None of them were cool enough to play this? RTTP isn't cool enough to promote the show on? People who actually listen to actual black metal aren't cool enough to know about Liturgy playing Boston? Is this Liturgy's doing, or is this just crappy show promotion?

Questions need answers.

i think if those guys played on an actual black metal bill they would get endless shit (at least i would hope so). probably why they're working the safer art noise/post-punk circuit.

i posted that show date way back in the thread making fun of this band and people talked about going to it just to make fun of them. that was a few months back and was the last i had heard of the show.

I watched that little youtube short about this band, it made me genuinely angry.

Kinda off-topic, but I don't know why everyone mocks the events page. Its a good resource for local shows if people actually used it.

I think rationalizing it like that is actually giving the promoter way too much credit. The fact that half an Events page listed was made for it makes me think that the promoter was just being lazy about it.

If it was on the Noise Board it was just as big a waste of time. Unless of course I've underestimated the appeal of hipster black metal to the 40 something greaser faggot demographic.
