PI: Can you tell us a little bit about the last album you put out? Are you currently touring for that album?
SW: Icons of Evil was the last album Vital Remains put out and recorded with Glen Benton, and that was in 2007. I’m currently working on the new album, and Glen might be doing something on that album with us. We'll see what happens when we are in the studio. I’ve been writing, with Tony Lazaro (the band’s guitarist and only original band member), and the rest of the guys, and it’s really a great process. This new album is going to be fucking brutal as hell. It’s going to be in the original Vital Remains traditions. And I’ll tell you, our fans WILL NOT be disappointed.

PI: Can you give us a hint of what fans should expect for the new album?
SW: Well, I’m going to keep it mysterious for now, but I’ll say it’s going to have a very strong Black Metal vibe, and you can expect some very old school Vital Remains from the older albums like Forever Underground, Into Cold Darkness and Dawn of the Apocalypse. Of course you can expect a continuation of Dechristianize and Icons of Evil on this new product. But we’re definitely taking it to the next level of the brutal crushing death metal machine that we are.

PI: So, how do you feel about your current line up right now?
SW: I feel great about our current line up! Especially our awesome bass player, Gator! He has stuck with this band when we first, actually, when Tony first re-vamped the line up. I mean after Suzuki left the band; it was a time when people were having a lot of doubts about the band. I knew we were up for a very strong fight to win over all of the fans who had their doubts. It took a few years and I feel I have grown much better as a front man and vocalist. I'm very confident that Vital Remains will smash through every last one of our enemy's and prove to the world that the band is stronger than ever.
