Gentlemen,

Anyone know of a place in this area that will rent out guitar amps (boutique/vintage/modern/whatever) by the day? I know of some places out in the midwest, but that really doesn't help me. Any info would really come in handy for some of the projects i'm working on now and in the future.

Thanks.

Good question. Encyclopedia Bluetanica should know.

Renting out boutique amps? No. But Daddy's will rent out any used piece of gear they have in their inventory. There will definitely be a decent selection for you.

Obviously not the greatest, but Daddy's will rent used gear.

Hmph. That's pretty sweet about Daddy's. Thanks for the heads up.

The Boston store currently has a Rivera K Tre head. If you want to rent that, ask for Ari when you come in.

I didn't realize Daddy's did that. Pretty cool, but what's the standard price? I'd assume they'd charge more for better quality stuff.

I also didn't know daddy's did that. It probably doesn't extend to used cymbals though.

toggletoggle post by WarriorOfMetal   at Aug 17,2010 9:42am
I'm pretty sure it does, actually.

toggletoggle post by ouchdrummer   at Aug 17,2010 9:42am
huh. really? I'm going to have to check that out.

Minimum is $25/day, $50/week, $100/month. For items above $250 selling price, it becomes 10% of the selling price per day, 20%/week, 40%/month.

Renting from Daddy's helped me not ruin my friend's wedding (amp was DOA). Reasonable as well.

So say if a used Mesa Boogie was going or $999, it'd be 99 bucks for one day 200 a week and so on?
Fuck, that deal is better for the cheap stuff.

toggletoggle post by WarriorOfMetal   at Aug 17,2010 9:58am
Correct. I have to disagree on it being better for the cheap stuff, though. People come in wanting to rent a small practice amp for the Berklee summer programs, and we'll have an amp that's actually cheaper to just buy than rent for that long.

Hmmm, that makes sense.

Union rented me a cab once cuz i was stuck. i wouldnt recommend it though because they rented me some piece of shit that fell apart on me and then tried to charge me for it.
