New site? Maybe some day.

Went and saw Shrinebuilder and Liturgy last night in NY.
Liturgy fucking blew my mind. Some of the blackest and most epic jack-hammer blasting insanity I've ever heard. Amazing dual guitar work. Really epic and melodic, but evil as fuck. If you haven't heard them yet, do yourself a favor. I really can't get over how good they were. I knew Shrinebuilder was going to be awesome, but I was not at all ready for Liturgy.
Shrinebuilder brought it as well. Those who are familiar with the members other projects, would expect no less. Great sound. Dale Crover and Al Cisneros make for one of the better rhythm sections I've heard/seen. MASSIVE riffs interspersed with stoner/psychadelic build ups and jammage. Huge sound.
Great seeing Scott from Neurosis on stage again. Intense doesn't even come close to describing that dude.
I knew it would be an awesome show, but the combo. of Liturgy AND Shrinebuilder made it one of the best of '09 for me.
I'm on about 2 hrs. sleep at work right now, and couldn't care less. Show was worth it. Even slept at a rest stop on the way home, without any attempted truck-driver molestation. |

Attended the Rwake and Shrinebuilder show, myself. Rwake is always killer, but Shrinebuilder was just grand. The Joy Division cover slew my nards. Went for food and drinks while Liturgy played. Overhyped hogwash. |

You are strange. If you had watched them, you might think differently. Just saying.
Rwake was pretty "meh", IMO. Songs are too damn long and the vocals were pretty bad. Few good riffs in there, but nothing remarkable. |
|
You like mayo, I like ranch. It's cool, baby. |
|
haha. Baconaise.
Which song in the order, was the Joy Division track? I unfortunately am not familiar with them, though I feel like I should be. |
|
They played "24 Hours". Think it was 3rd from last. |
|
Fire up the Nocturnus time machine, baby. |
|
I'm seeing Shrinebuilder and Wolves In The Throne Room next thursday! |
|
Me too. Can't wait. Going to see Liturgy in Brooklyn this Saturday as well. |

Ditto re: Liturgy, it's "Krallice-minus." I'm surprised that Colin hasn't challenged them to a steel cage match yet.
nice Nocturnus time machine ref. |
|
Colin actually recorded their steaming pile and Lev attempted to defend them to me on not one, but two occasions. I was confounded and befuddled. |
|
Liturgy=BREE BREE BREE BREE BREE!!!
Oh yes, there will be BREE. |
|
Tomorrow night! Gonna be awesome! |
|
Fancy time. Wish I was going. No dice. |
|
awww! Was hoping for some RTTP representation there! hehe |

Would be a grand time, Wren. But these little cunts aren't going to teach the second solo of Iron Man to themselves... |
