Fight Over Doughnuts Results In Gym Teacher's Resignation

ROCHESTER, N.H. -- A 59-year-old gym teacher at Spaulding High School resigned Monday after he turned himself in to Rochester police.

Marc Bergerson is charged with reckless conduct after an incident involving three students and a box of Krispy Kreme doughnuts.

The students were threatening to take the doughtnuts away, prompting Bergeron to throw a knife at one of the students. A 15-year-old student suffered two minor injuries to his arm and thumb.

In all, Bergeron had three knives, and while police won't detail what led to the incident, school officials describe it as horseplay.
