English Lit is a retarded major, Hoser. I made the mistake of being an English Communications/ Writing & Rhetoric major.
85% of English majors are snotty little pricks, much like many of the professors. They think they know everything because they read books.
The only ones that stood out were the individuals - the ones that have the ability to actually create literature. Don't let the knowledge you've learned from reading take control of you. Keep quiet about it and don't rub it in peoples' faces. Just a word of advice from a fellow (former) English major.
Not to mention trying to get a decent paying job with an ENL degree is retarded. One must go back to school.

Knowledge serves no purpose unless you're using it for something or if your mind loves indulging itself with information. Professing how 'smart' you are is just another futile way of making someone feel better about themselves.
