I think the issue people have is when Led Zeppelin is cited as the best rock and roll band ever and claim that they changed everything. When you know they got where they did from ripping off others without giving them credit, its hard not to point it out.

And Elvis is a horrible example to use against this. Everyone knows Elvis got famous for being the first white guy to be successful playing what had been pretty much exclusively black music. I don't think anyone on this board bows to Elvis.

I think thats just how it was back then. Covering other people's songs didn't seem like such a big deal.

When songs were actually covered, the writers were credited. I don't think Dixon was credited for years and definitely not on every song.
