Whos gonna be there? If I'm in the area, I may stop in.

It's about a couple hundred yards from the highschool, right across the street from the YMCA.

toggletoggle post by joeycobra  at Jan 11,2008 3:50pm
I wish lighning knocked out the power at work so I could leave earlier.

toggletoggle post by joeycobra  at Jan 11,2008 4:59pm
one more bump

about to head there right now.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Jan 11,2008 5:58pm
I just walked in. if you are coming. the road that it is one comes to a "T" with a whole field being at the top of the "T". the school is the building on the right looking at that "T". on the left is a bigger building that is a gym for kids of something. there are a lot of cars all around here.

Something is completely bizarre here. It's a little kids school. Elementary school to be exact. When you are like 4 or 5 times the age of the average age of the daily residence... It's sort of weird. Think if obriens had a day care center during the day. The crowd peeing their pants at night would be much different from the peepants during the day.

the Naucet view: I guess they are a new band and only had 2 songs. The fact that I had nothing to eat makes me hope that more bands do this. I'm not a fat person or anything.. But I has the hunger.

chris cleary: when you just see a name, you can be sure that it'll be just a dude with a guitar. Through a couple technical difficulties, he played a paramore cover, a whitney huston cover and like 3 other originals. Playing "I want to dance with somebody" in an elementary school hall while your friends heckle you must be a trip. I need to get friends and try it out.

toggletoggle post by xanonymousx at Jan 11,2008 7:01pm
haha i'm not there oh well.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Jan 11,2008 7:45pm
The Venetian Fair: the way they were described was using all sorts of bands that I all sorts of don't like. The vocals mostly squaked out and the keyboards sounded like an 8-bit videogame. Their second to last song sounded like a bright%eye song that I like. So.. That's something good, right?

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Jan 11,2008 8:32pm
hollywood lies: what is up with all these bands and their use of boxes on stage? I guess they didnt have lights in them, but still. They took a long time to set u and then kept having terrible troubles with the mics. They kept having to stop and switch them out as things cut in and out. Not my sort of music at all. It was more the kind of music that people make just to get young chicks. but then the girls make their bfs listen to it and it's a catchy pop music spiral.

By this point, i got to go pee IN THE SMALLEST URINAL ever.

riendeau: they took a not-too-long time to set up. Funny cause they had like a million lights and everything. (everything is code speak for black boxes on which to stand). I think i've seen these guys before. Maybe not. They got a really good crowd response. Hometown heroes. Finally, some shots with the crowd moving. With all the lights and everything, they killed the power twice. The last time they didnt turn the lights back on. By the end of their set, someone was pretty pissed cause they started a fight that lasted the longest out of any fight since that BOTN show which was also in one of the Readings. It must be something about this place cause just like the other place, it just sort of swirled all around the crowd in slow motion like watching a little whirl pool coming off you paddle as you row down a lazy river on a hot afternoon.

Astronomer: never have I banged my head throughout an entire set for a band. At no point did I think to myself "oh, this shit is dragging". I'm here right now basically kissing my friends asses since I've never had a chance to see them live, and always just missed them.
By far, the best band of the night, and the show isn't even over yet.

Holy shit.

The best way to describe their sound, is the death process of someone in a hospital in the burn ward.

Rev is taking pictures. And I hate him.
No.
Not really

aaron if i knew you were going to be there i would have been there i just didn't want to go somewhere alone again.

The show was okay...im not really into hardcore but it was entertaining. My friend pushed a mosher away from him and it resulted in him getting decked, then a little fight thing happened...that was the first fight.

People there seem to like necrophagist...got lots of comments for my hoody haha who doesnt?

For most of the opening bands, I took a walk out and fell through the ice into a small pond...then returned and passed time outside smoking with Albert from Always and Forever, making fun of people. It was a grand time.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Jan 12,2008 1:01am
someone at the show asked me if I was with the Reading Advocate. I played it off.. well, I tried to play it off, but I'm sure that he could tell. I've been trying to get into the Reading Advocate for YEARS!! and I'm a little bit sensitive on the topic. thanks buddy.

Hey, I sing or something for Riendeau, sucks the fight had to happen, but the pics came out great man. Awesome fucking work. You managed to not make me look fat so kudos hahaha.

Hahahaha hooray for looking like a chipmunk in those random shots.

toggletoggle post by joeycobra  at Jan 12,2008 11:32am
boo for fights and people tearing down little kids artwork in the hallway.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Jan 12,2008 4:10pm
ruining kid's art? who do they think they are, MADDOX?

astronomer: they started of sort of rocky. The vocals sounded just as terrible as all the other bands that played here tonight. After about 1 or 2 songs whatever it was settle out and they sounded better than any of the other bands that played tonight. One of the coolest things ever was when their lights went out for the first time so the rom was totally dark. I looked up and the ceiling was glowing. It took a coule more times looking until I realized that it wasnt just a coincedence that there were glowing stars on the ceiling and that it was in fact coming from a star generating machine at joey's feet. "we are astromer from space." the songs they started off with were too great. The songs in the middle where awesome (see the other asian aaron's post). Totally spacey, but not boring. In the end, they just played the popular "stupid hardcore" songs that they play. This has much more crowd participation.

I liked the eerie sounding stuff Astronomer played when Joe would delay the shit out of his guitar and use the effects, then that one with the bass intro was cool.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Jan 12,2008 8:26pm
all hands on deck: a totally hardcore poppunk band fronted by matt (ex-auburn system, ex-stars fell on, ex-someother band). Not hardcore like the music, but more like the pornograhy. You know girls on girls and dudes on sheepies n stuff. They pull off a genre that i dont really like very well. Unfortunately for me, these are the stupid catchy songs that bore into your ear. One listen to myspace and people know all the songs. If I start humming any of them, ice pick to the cranium. matt surprisingly could sing. I was a little amazed. I figured that years of cinnabons has destroyed his vocal chords.

that was the best review i have ever got. thats was fucking hilarious thank you
