I dunno how I feel about this, other than it better not piss me off and suck.
It looks like it may deliver, and Malcolm McDowell is playing Dr Loomis, so thats a plus.

i'm with you there. i've been wary of it since i heard that Michael actually has a line in the movie.

toggletoggle post by DomesticTerror at Apr 8,2007 1:09pm
it can't be worse than Busta Rhymes tho.

toggletoggle post by powerkok   at Apr 8,2007 1:13pm
wow...thats a ballsy move, giving him a line.
It better be fucking poetic.

I was hoping Michael would shoot Bustah with a tec 9 the whole time, but it never happened.

toggletoggle post by Aegathis  at Apr 8,2007 1:14pm
why doesnt it just come out on Halloween?

The marketing practically writes itself!

i'm sure the dvd release date will be on halloween...they'll make more money that way.

I'm on the fence about it, but the cast is fucking great. Even though Rob Zombie didn't do the best job on House of 1,000 Corpses, I did enjoy Natural Born Killers part 2, I mean Devil's Rejects.

I'm also fencewalking for this movie.
It's a classic, but I actually have faith in Rob Zombie not fucking this up. Plus, I'd actually rather see this being made then another shitty rapper infested clusterfucker Halloween Co2 E=MC2 whatever movie.

If Michael has a line in the begining when he is a child (because it looks like there will be more of a look at his childhood), I can live with that.
Once he is grown up and in a rubber room, I want dead silence from him.

i know he wont fuck this up. he has a legacy to uphold. House of 1000 Corpses was fucking awesome, but The Devils Retards fucking sucked. however i know that with a bold move like a Halloween remake, he wont let it suck. i have faith.

Hmmmm... I'm no horror movie buff, but I love the Halloween movies, especially the first one obviously. On one hand, I thought House Of 1000 Corpses was stupid, I laughed pretty much the whole time, and I'd be wary of a remake of Halloween even if it wasn't done by the same guy who did that one. But on the other hand, Rob Zombie is a horror movie fanatic, and I would think that he has enough respect for such a great, classic horror film to only remake it if he knew he could do it good. Sooo, yeah, I'm on the fence too. That's fucking strange that Michael has a line though...

I'm more interested in the animated movie he has coming out. I believe its called the The Haunted World of el Superbeasto.

I just went to this tonight with my girlfriend. It was really good. I am very surprised. It was great. Go see it.

I just got back from this.
Wow. Fucking awesome remake. Zombie really did a great job with it.
Definitely impressed, I think this will solidify Zombie as a serious, modern horror director.

On a side note, a 15 year old black punk tried to break bad with my friend when my friend told him to shut the fuck up. It was hilarious.

A teenaged African JerryCurled Theater Monkey, was sitting in front of my friend, and wouldnt fucking shut up, and finally about an hour into it, my friend says, "Dude, shut the fuck up, Im sick of youre shit"

The kid acted like we just told him to fuck his mother, and was all huffy until I administered the Powerkok no-blink death stare.

Now read the original sentence, and reflect it off this explanation, and it makes sense.

ok. that's what i figured. "break bad"?. ive never heard that expression

sounds like you went to the Randolph theater.

hahaha ya pretty much, just more black.
I was actually quite suprised how many black ppl there were there to see a movie about an insane white knife weilding psychopath.

This kid gets up and goes out of the theatre in the beggining, comes back and goes, "What I miss?"
His friend goes " He killed his whole family"

Hahahaha.

I refrained from commenting on this earlier, because I was super pissed and didn't want to sound like a raving maniac, but I'm browsing around Wikipedia looking at slasher film stuff and it pissed me off all over again.

I really didn't like a) that they even did this remake, and b) what they did with it. I don't really even want to have Michael Myers' childhood (apart from the murdering) elaborated on, in the first place, but if they were gonna do it, the last fucking thing they should have done was make him Mr. Abused Boy from the Broken Home. I don't want to see Michael Myers as a product of his fucking environment; Michael Myers is a cold, inhuman, killer - that's it. You don't feel sorry for him, you run the fuck away from him, and then he kills you because he feels like it, and he can. Not because he didn't get enough hugs and his stepdaddy yelled at him. Bullshit.

Luckily, like most remakes, it's totally non-canonical, and I can go on enjoying the real Halloween, sans PC nonsense about what makes a killer.

(That being said - and I'm gonna sound even wackier, here - I enjoyed the movie. *snort* I just have real problems with the philosophy behind it, and I don't respect it as part of the Halloween franchise, but if it had another title and another killer, I would have enjoyed it on its own merits. The kid who played little Michael was awesome, the early murders were super brutal, the scares in the second half were well done, and it did a good job of super-overstimulating the audience, I thought. And Malcolm McDowell is automatically awesome; great replacement for Pleasence. Go figure.)

I believe I'll go see this tomorrow; I was going to see Hatchet again, but it seems like it will be out of reach for my overall plans. I'm going to this movie thinking it's going to suck though, just so I don't get my hopes up for nothing.

toggletoggle post by AUTOPSY_666   at Sep 6,2007 1:38pm
The kid that played the young Michael Myers looks just like Johnny Hedlund from UNLEASHED!

I enjoyed this movied untill he became present day michael, then it was boring. I actually fell asleep at the end.....I was stoned though so it might not be just cause i was bored

Just got back from seeing it, and it was one of the most dissapointing things I've seen since The Omen remake. Wanted to walk out on the movie 20 minutes into it. I haven't walked out on a movie since the Planet of the Apes remake. The only thing about it that was good to me was the cast of character actors (Ken Foree, Brad Douriff, Sid Haig, Bill Moseley.) Malcolm McDowell is still, and always will be, the shit.

Other than that, I hated every other detail about the movie and found myself laughing at the end because of how Myers just kept breaking down doors, and walls, and ceilings. Give me a fucking break.

toggletoggle post by DomesticTerror at Sep 13,2007 10:40pm
anyone seen the workprint version yet? i'm told it's much better.

toggletoggle post by MarkFuckingRichards  at Sep 13,2007 11:05pm
I still haven't seen this...Chris, your quick review makes me doubt it more, haha. Maybe I'll just wait until it comes out on DVD and rent it on Netflix or something.

i went cause i was fucking hammered and had a good time.

My only real complaint is that when Michael Myers was wearing all of those home made masks and had the strands of hair covering his face, he looked just like one of the guys from Slipknot.

Haha, right? I noticed that, too.

Really, I just have philosophical problems with the premise of this movie; I can't complain about the execution, I just don't think they should have tried to expand on Michael's childhood.

The scene where Laurie's in the ceiling and Michael's smashing the shit out of it was pretty intense, I thought.

toggletoggle post by DomesticTerror at Sep 22,2007 2:31pm
i just watched the uncut version. it was better than i expected. i've been told this version had a different ending. how did the theatrical version end? just like the original, with doc loomis looking over the balcony and michael not being there? this one didn't have that. very disappointed there.

i finally saw this last night. i will give it a D+ only because of the cinematography, Michael Myers looking cool, and Malcolm McDowell as Dr. Loomis. otherwise this movie sucked. everything that made Halloween what it was, wasn't there. the acting by Sheri Moon and that kid that played young Myers was atrocious, the dialogue was so lame, it was an all around butchery of a classic. Michael Myers isn't a sad little panda as the result of a broken home, he is the embodiment of pure evil. we don't need to know why, he just is. it did have some cool scenes in it towards the end, some that were taken directly from the original, but it just lacked so much. making Myers look like a member of Slipknot was gay, and when he dropped to his knees and held out the picture of him and Laurie as children made me want to vomit. 2 thumbs down.
