Sweet, my mom would probably appreciate me not stumbling into her house at 2am and trying to disarm the alarm. I'll see what I can work out, It'll depend on what I can arrange for the kiddo/me getting back home/all that fun stuff.

yeah, you're welcome to stumble into my apartment. I imagine I will be doing some stumbling of my own despite work the next day
I've wanted to get Hekseri on the same bill as Abnormality since I first heard them. Fuckin killer stuff, and of course Goreality rule as well. This should be a kick ass gig all around
I'm pretty sure that show is cancelled. The earliest I've heard of O'Briens re-opening is the end of March.
i kept getting the impression that it was from everything i heard, but i kept asking martin from o'briens and he keeps telling me it's still on. as recently as yesterday. kind of wanted to make sure there's a show before i have my friends from NYC drive all the way up here, but he assures me it's happening.

Yeah that's great. But how about posting in your own thread? The ALLEGED show that is happening at O'Brien's has NOTHING to do with the show that IS happening at the Sky Bar. I understand wanting to promote and all, but try to not do it in this thread, ok? Its a little fucking rude. Thanks
The only Martin from O'Briens I can recall si Martin Doyle, who hasn't worked there in a long time.
Anyway, I'll be at this show. It's near my house and for the ladies, I just want it to be known that I go down on the first date.

people had mentioned other shows going on that night in this thread, this was just one more, yes i could have just started another thread, but i wasn't trying to be rude or detract from the show this thread was started for.
in any case i cancelled the show on sunday. have fun at the other show.
In preperation for the carnage all 3 bands will be serving up this Sunday, I've taken Monday off. Actually I'm gonna get really drunk. And that can sometimes be a show on its own. Better safe than sorry.
I hope whoever booked this show never gets what they want for christmas ever again.
Well you better be referring to the Sky Bar booking aspect because I have nothing to do with the 21 + policy. I am not for limiting shows to a certain demographic
xtra thanks to Steve Cythraul for videodroming our set
hahaha hope I didn't scare anyone during Kingwrecker--but giving the V bass to the audience during the song made the sound come back somehow! Who knew?
i really wanted to see abnormality because i was really impressed with mallika when we played with phantom limb back in the day and she did guest vocals, plus i know the track record of the other members of the band and those guys know how to play, so i was hoping to have seen them by now. hopefully i'll see them next time.
I brought the mosh for Goreality. Then became tired and had to sit down while sweating profusely for the rest of the night. Fat and shitty looking, thy name is Rich Horror.
Yep. This was my first time at the Skybar and I had a blast. All the bands were great, the people in attendance were awesome, and my drinks were glowing... ?
If only the drummer didn't complain to the soundguy between every song.
Douche, if you spent half the time that you spend on here talking shit, on your business cards, you could've come up with an original idea & bussiness might be a little better.
And trust me, the mood collapsed the second you walked thru the door.
I asked the sound guy twice to adjust the level on the monitor, he did what he could and so did I. I had a fuckin great time @ this show! Thanks to Hekseri, Goreality & ALMOST everyone who came out. This really was the best Sunday show I've ever played.

Like I was saying before, though, it did sound great on the floor, despite what it sounded like on stage. Your kicks were nice and loud.
Yeah, once I heard everyone else from the floor I was sure that we sounded fine. I just couldn't hear my kicks on stage at all. I brought an active monitor w/ me & the output he plugged it into on the board didn't share the same EQ as the rest of the PA. They were "nice & loud" cause when I asked him to turn em up in the monitor, he turned em up in the PA, but the monitor level never changed. If they took those 2 JBL's off the ceiling & made em mobile, they'd be all set. Thanks for the re-assurance though!! You know when your playing on a stage all your thinking is, "how does it sound on the floor?"!
the sound guy who was a dick to the accursed doesn't do metal shows at the skybar anymore, only other stuff.
good. I hope he hits his head on a moving car.
I've done that before, it's pretty funny. Jeff can back me up on this as being a lot of fun to do.

I assume the boards aux sends are pre-fader (pre eq etc).Get yourself a DI box.(check out the radial pro DI- Around$80) the 1/4" from the dm5 will feed the DI box. The DI has two ouputs, a 1/4" to go to your powered monitor, and the XLR to go to FOH. Or get a pair of headphones and look wicked ghey like myself.
You know when your playing on a stage all your thinking is, "how does it sound on the floor?"!
Right. And that happens a lot I think. I've played shows where it sounds like total ass on stage but sounds great on the floor. Other times it will sound great on stage but like shit on the floor.

Yeah. I'm old and awesomely out of shape. Bringing the mosh for more than one song leads to cardiac arrest.
Well, one death metal song. Which equals at least half a set by any punk/hardcore/powerviolence/crust band. So at punk shows I do better.

that soundguy was pretty cool, we just went over and talked to him and told him what to expect from us and he did the same. he even got a shirt from us haha!
I haven't seen his work all that much, but he does seem to run around during the sets and check sound and whatnot. It's more than most clubs do at the very least.
The sound guy from The Accursed's show wouldn't turn Jon's mic on, Jon waved at him and pointed at the mic to let him know it wasn't working, and the sound guy smirked an waved back. He told someone later he wasn't "anybody's nigger".
