somebody dig up Killbots: Attack! and The Action Taken.

toggletoggle post by cav at Jan 2,2007 1:37pm
i mean i guess it depends on your budget and what kind of fest your doing (metal/hardcore/indie/whatever) but overall some bands id like to see right now are Psyopus, The Faceless, Shai Hulud, With Honor, Since the Flood, Vanna, Verse, Zao.

As far as locals go ALL THE ONES ANONYMOUSX POSTED + last chance to reason, the auburn system, orchestrate the incident, follow the flies, the miles between, in dire need, i could go on all day.

toggletoggle post by atthehaunted  at Jan 2,2007 1:43pm
Killbots: Attack! was a fun band to watch

How about not doing the fest because people are really starting to list some gay fucking bands. Only find bands with names associated with the movie Chariots of Fire and then you're in business.

one problem that I'm seeing is that all the people that might attend this are now in bands that would play it.
the only way to get local kids to come out now is if there is whiney singing in your band. then the kids parents pick them up right after.

the rev's got a point, you have to have a couple bands on the show that no one here would like because those are the bands that bring teh kidzz0rrz

toggletoggle post by mOe @ work at Jan 3,2007 10:57am
OH, and Clitorture...put clitorture on

toggletoggle post by atthehaunted  at Jan 3,2007 11:04am
we have clitorture on our mind, but it is tenatively goin to be in either nov or oct, we want this to be more successful then the first which was rather sucessful in my eyes. also we are thinking of having it in providence or if someone knows of a decent size venue that isn't insanely expensive. We are not getting all death metal bands we are also thinking about getting some bands that have a decent rep. with the kids

toggletoggle post by mOe @ work at Jan 3,2007 11:15am
awesome, man...then any of my bands would LOVE to play this show if you wouldnt mind keeping us in consideration

Just so you guys know I am the other guy putting this on. I personally would like to see goreality, proteus, porphyria, clitorture, Dysentery, what once was, Dour Cursiva, the mamon(sp) machine, and quite a few other from here on there. We obviously do not have a date confirmed yet, so we can't 100% confirm any bands yet, but we will as soon as possible.

Moe, don't worry, we will probably work something out with one of your bands. Whats going on with the final battle right now?

we are also working on a decent flow of nationals too. Perhaps some of the badns from the first COF.

I listed all the band from the second day (after I got there cuz I think I missed held hostage and one other).

if it's in PVD, no one from PVD will go except for the people in the bands unless drop dead or lightning bolt plays.

I agree. Worcester would be a good place.

toggletoggle post by xanonymousx at Jan 4,2007 3:24pm
i really don't know about worcester the only venue that would be good for this would probably be the qvcc since the palladium charges $$$$ to rent the place out then you would need to pay the security bar tenders ect.

toggletoggle post by Yeti at Jan 4,2007 3:25pm
yeah Worcester unfortunately wouldnt be ideal since there is no good place for it, unless you could get like the Lucky Dog or something but then you'd be inundated with scenesters, and that wouldnt happen anyways since the Dog is only for cool people. QVCC is really the only place, but that sucks so no.

toggletoggle post by Samantha at Jan 4,2007 3:32pm

ANY 21+ venue would be a bad idea
the QVCC is hit or miss...either the show is awesome or 2 kids show up, depends on who you put on

toggletoggle post by sacreligion at Jan 4,2007 3:36pm
you could feasibly do the palladium if you really wanted

it's $2000 for everything(the upstairs, that is, but it includes staff, sound, etc.)

with the amount of bands it looks like you're going to book, you could easily make your money back(have 20 bands sell 10 $10 tickets...if they can't do that they should quit playing shows)

toggletoggle post by RichHorror  at Jan 4,2007 3:37pm

Selling tickets period is gay. Any band that does so is a joke. Any band that thinks they're not engaging in pay to play when doing so is also a joke. If you need to sell tickets, you should break up.

toggletoggle post by sacreligion at Jan 4,2007 3:47pm
you're just pissed cuz it makes you realize no one wants to come see you after you fail to sell them

toggletoggle post by mOe @ work at Jan 4,2007 3:48pm
selling tickets doesnt depend on the band it depends on the show itself and its promoter
if the ONLY way a band can play a show is to sell tickets then yea, they're a bad band, however, in certain places its hard as hell to get on shows initially especially if there's not a big DIY following...trust me i know, i was in a band in northern NJ at one point. We had to play a ticket sellling gig because that was pretty much the only way we could get on a bigger show and get our names out.

No, if I need to sell tickets, I shouldn't be on the show in the first place. Like all those terrible Mark's Place shows. There's a reason the opening bands play to no one. No one knows who they are. Being a promoter/musician my self I say selling tickets is gay. Thats the job of the promoter. thats what they are there for. If they need bands to do thier job they do not belong having the job in the first place. Now if a band wanted to sell tickets to thier friends (ask me for tickets and what not) I would not have a problem, but telling people to sell tickets?... No way.

toggletoggle post by atthehaunted  at Jan 5,2007 9:52am
Everyone is freaking out over nothing, if u have nothin better to do then have negative comments then fuck off. It's dumb how a simple question like please give us names of bands u would like to see turns into homo gay estrogen, however it's spelled, I really don't give a fuck. We will find a place, we may or may not sell tickets, it went great last time we didn't sell tickets it was just at the door. We gave a braclet for a two day pass and bam all was done. So pleaz stop bein retarded and stick to the topic. Thanx
