ok so i took my girlfriend to the opening night of the circus last night in providence.

we had a shitty dinner at Blakes Tavern, never eat there.

anyway, we walk over to the dunkin donuts center.
little kids are everywhere.

peta was standing out front with picket signs, "LION KILLERS"
and some stupid ass clown dressed like an abused elephant limping around.

one of the protesters came up to me and was like
"if youre going inside maybe you should take one of these..."

and hands me a flyer.

i was like

"are you serious, youre scaring the kids, grow up"
and threw it back in her face.

the funny thing was, there wasnt even a lion at the circus.

anyway, that was my stupid story for the day.

When the circus comes to Boston, the trains that carry all the animals and equipment and stuff are parked somewhere in Cambridge. When I was living in Central Square a few years ago I used to go drinking at the Cambridgeport Saloon. One night I went there while the circus happened to be in town. There were a bunch of circus workers drinking there. Not performers, the guys who clean up and do all the dirty work.
Those guys like to get FUCKED UP. I hung out with a few of them. We ended up splitting an 8-ball. They told me all kinds of fucked up stories of how the animals would be treated. If anyone from peta had overheard they would've been horrified. I wish I could remember them better but that period of my life is total blur.

hah

well i wouldnt doubt they treat them not so well, but so do some pet owners you know. the little kids love it though, and it must be hard to explain why some brown student has a sign that says "youre a lion killer" on it heh

They were really ruining it for all the little kids whose parents were bringing them there. bunch of assholes.
