Anyone know how the first FLOYDESTROYER show went? |
beer buds and bitches said: Anyone know how the first FLOYDESTROYER show went? |
better then krispie kream did in new england |
true. dunkin donuts destroys all in this area. |
I prefer Honey Dew's coffee to Dunkins but it is the opposite when it comes to pasty.
now that I got that out of the way
who is Floydestroyer? |
floydestroyer is cwaf alterego of a band covering pink floyd songs like nobodies business.
so now that, thats outta the way....mind your own business ha
oh wait nevermind, im not in the mob. go about your business then |
we did pretty damn good. minor technical difficulties(tom's delay wouldn't turn off, it did after stomping on it repeatedly) aside, it was killer. Some guy in a wheelchair was there and totally flipped while we were playing, he can be heard many times on the live tape screaming and cheering, it was awesome. |
sweet flyer
whats the order for the night? |
Presley rule..plain and simple. Drugs in which even straight edgers can induldge... |
the order, from first to last:
9:30 presley
10:30 floydestroyer
11:30 bugs and rats |
I guess I'm going leave for this in a little while. |
I'm here now.
some guy is here and has the place all wired up to record floydestroyer. |
presley: I'm not going to go back and read my last review about how they were at the show in lowel. Their set here was awesome. One long song with sparce vocals and 2 spots that slowed down to almost nothing. For all I know, it could have been one song, but then that's space rock for you. If you go to their myspace, that mp3 is exactly what they sound like on stage. Just as tight. from what I remember at the othere show, the guitar tonight was a little thinner. It was probably the room though. |
I'm not home. getting gas. |
floydestroyer: so CWAF couldn't play, but 2/3rds of CWAF could. This is tom and brad's project with the drummer from seige, robert. they had the guy who recorded the conifer and ocean CDs, mark, there recording their set. Honestly I have no clue what the connection with this and pinkfloyd is musically. I'm not a big floyd fan so I didn't really recognize anything with out vocals. This just souded like a psychrock version of CWAF without vocals or the mega drum punch that jon brings in. The seige drummer sounds more like conifer's old(?) drummer nate. they did a noise ending like they do with CWAF and that was it. |
That was it? I thought that their set was badass. They put a lot of work into getting that song right. I thought that they pulled it off quite well. |
I just don't know pink floyd at all. |
Ahhh.. too bad. Good stuff. |
honestly, I was expecting straight covers with singing. that would have sucked. now, it just feels like I saw an instrumental CWAF set. |
ok, and for the record, on 95N exit 47a, whe it says the exxon is 24hours, it is not. I drove right by it off the exit cause the guy turned all the lights off and was sitting in his car in the parking lot.
I drove through danvers, through peabody, and then passed 128 trying to find thing fuucking gas station. I didn't get it on rt 1 cause the last place was 2.36 and the places before were 2.27. I had driven 100 miles with a gas light on. so I turn around after 128 and drive back to where I got off the highway. pull in to the exxon with the lights off (so does another lady in the same predicament). the pumps don't work and the worker in his car is trying to leave. finally, he came back and the pumps worked. top of all that, I paid 2.39! |
He was gettin high I bet hah |
floydestroyer's set was short.
I barely took any pictures.
and then I missed the bow at the end. |
I had a great time tonight, thanks to joe/nc for putting it together
We(presley) actually played two songs just with a boat load of improvisation in between. Our guitar players amp is blown so nothing sounds right
Floydestroyer was incredible, better then I could have imagined and Bugs and Rats was great this being my second time seeing them |
I got a lot of funny pictures of the drummer |
It was a good show, great turnout! I missed most of Presley because work hates me. I know I will like them though, it's just a matter of me catching them live.
Floydestroyer was fun, but like Aaron I don't own anything from Pink Floyd so to me it was like instrumental, psychadelic cwaf as well. They sounded really good.
Bugs and Rats I really like (obviously). I think they killed last night and I hope Aaron writes a review. |
oh crap! I didnt post it? I thought I did.. shit.
some of the bass on floydestroyer sounded like fu manchu |
mother fuckers... it's gone.
now I'm po'd.
I typed out a longish review and it didn't post for some reason. |
thanks for the pics Rev. I'll be posting an mp3 of Floydestroyer soon, we made 2 multi track recordings and 2 four tracked recordings. Presley was awesome, i think Bugs and Rats didn't hit their stride till halfway through the set, but they ended it like motherfuckers.
Good night |
I'm looking forward to getting a copy of the Floydestroyer set, it was killer
The pictures came out great, thanks! |
