we're in watching land of the dead now. ramero and two of the cast intro'd it. |
damn it i wanna see god dethroned |
I took a ton of pics that most of you will never see because aaron was right behind me so he "stole my set up" as I took some romero pics....but he liked me best as he laughed and called me his paparazzi and said I could blind him as much as I wanted. Oh, he also said that he's working on 2 films based on stephen king books/novels I forget |

the schedule has moved around. downstair is unchanged (i think). upstairs is fucked up. atrocity is finishing up. |
atrocity: (secondstage) I was talking about cameras with the bassplayer for along time and I didn't know who he was (he's got all canon stuff and shoots auariums for aquarium magazine.) atrocity was awesome. All those people that missed them are fools. They were deathmetally with female vocals sprinkled sporadically through out. Some of their stuff was more doomy and they had a guy in the back running two lappies for the sequenced parts. They also covered tears for fears.
acacia strain, the: (mainstage) it's always odd seeing them on a huge stage. They pull it off, but I think their amount of breakdowns really stick out if the crowd isn't right up on the to absord then and dance along. They played 3 new songs. It's awesome to see how they just get more and more gutteral and heavy. Sitting near the speaker probably made me sterile. |
I ran in for acacia strain's last song...I ended up staying in the dcu center hanging with land of the dead people and met romero's daughter and he also autographed a pic for me |
leaves eyes: (secondstage) so, I never gave this band a chance. Their CD is is the oposite of atrocity.. It's heavey on the girl singer and heavey on the dancey snyth parts. Once they get into a song, its pretty good. This band is 100% atrocity members (minus the male singer). I actually only knew they switch personas cause the girl change dresses. I think after seeing them live, I will give the CD another shot.
Esoteric: (mainstage) they weren't bad. I thought they were a lot more sing-songy. but I was wrong thre. They are one of prosthetics newest acuisitions. They had quite a few breakdowns but weren't really hardcore or metalcore. |
Some tidbits I learned in chatting with romero...his dad is from spain..then moved to cuba...and his mom is lithuanian...ummm of course now I forget the rest I meant to type |
I want to see God Dethroned but I just got home from work and I'm too tired/lazy to drive to Worcester. |
god dethroned in 15 minutes, but no Thine_Eyes_Bleedm, Lilitu, epoch of unlight , or Nightrage on the secondstage.. Suckage! |
hell within: (secondstage) they played an awesome set and got a great crowd response. I guess they've been getting a killer response all over their tour. it's great to see that they are doing great. Actually, there were a ton of people that packed upstairs to see them and then left the room right after.
mnemic: (mainstage) I'm not a big fan of their music, but they played well. I have trouble picking on songs from the songs on their CD. I think the singer had a mohawk the last time I saw them.
Mantis: (secondstage) I have their new CD is so good. I think there is a lot of the fluffy from the CD that is left out in their live show, but it's the fluffy that makes the CD so good. Otherwise, their life set is somewhere left between the banner and let it die. Still, there were way too few people up there for this band. Shame on you all. |

esoteric is the band that almost got me down there today but i had other stuff going on. haven't seen Marshall since Metalfest and I missed his band there. the last two releases are really good...a full-length on prosthetic and an ep...1336 i think.
this band lost its house and pretty much all equipment and posessions a while back and they're continuing to work through it. sorry i couldn't be there to see 'em play.

ok so the haunted are playing....i was looking down and during the last song someone was trying to get on stage and 3 security people grabbed him..i think the singer was trying to say it's ok and to let him on but they grabbed him and escorted him out...
hmmm |
damn my double posting phone.
god forbid is on now. |
haunted, the: (mainstage) I have a hard time getting into them now when I see them. The new metally singer doesn't do it for me.
god dethroned: (secondstage) ok, I've been waiting for them to come back to the states for 5.5 years (metalfest 2000 I think). Two things. First, they didn't play a single song that I wanted them to play. I have made up the perfect play list and they played none of it. Second, I understand german a bit. henry told the sound guy oscar "only one more"
oscar "you have plenty of time"
henry "no only one more"
I was pissed and wanted to yell out "nein, noch fumf meir". But they ended there. With all that said, they fucking killed! Besides the technical issues with the mic being blown, it was awesome. One of their old guitar players (92) is now their sound guy. He was running all over the stage most of the set fixing the sound/mics/etc. . |
home, working on pictures |
I just put up and re-did the DCU center shots. |
they didnt play any songs you wanted them to play? they played bloody blasphemy, boiling blood, the grand grimoire, and other old shit at the nyc show |
no grand grimoire in worcester.. *sad* |
the_reverend said: no grand grimoire in worcester.. *sad* |
haha good i didnt miss anything then |

K and I got there as soon as God Forbid went on...
God Forbid: Not diggin the sound of the Krank amps they were using and they have too many of the clean vox in the new songs. It was more tolerable on gone forever.
MESHUGGAH: They weren't playing the Nevborn guitars this time around, they have custom Ibanez 8-strings. The guitars were ridiculously low and pretty much became one with the bass so it was hard to hear what was going on at some points because of the acoustics of downstairs, too much echo. For some reason I could hear a high pitch frequency coming from the guitars which was weird! They played most of the tracks I wanted them to play but they stopped when they had 20 minutes left to play! what's the deal with that?
Turnout was okay for a sunday night, there were waay more people there the last time they were around at metalfest. I almost went to the BBKings show on friday but by the time I found out they were playing I would have never made it down in time. |
ps. I happend to see Nate/DWD get thrown out for picking up a trash bin and launching over everyone almost into frederick... |
I really dislike this lady...
huh? now how is he going to cameo with every band ever?
it's one thing doing that with 2000 people there. they wouldn't catch you, but how are you going to get away with that when there's like 50-100 kids on the floor? |
grrr rev everytime i click on pics it crashes my IE...i cant see any of ur photos...

Is the same Atrocity that made Hallucinations? Because if so it seems they've become pretty terrible |
