YOU FUCKING SUCK!!!!! you have no idea what you're doing, you obviously have no idea how to do live sound for metal bands, and you can't get equipment to work right. DO NOT do sound for next year's MDF.

toggletoggle post by joe/notcommon   at May 30,2005 6:33pm
there is no next year MDF, i heard those promoters are moving to europe

toggletoggle post by joe/notcommon   at May 30,2005 6:36pm
In his defense, every band used the same shit, and no 2 drummers play equal, and with no real time to soundcheck them, i don't think alot of the sound problems can be blamed on him. Rotten Sound's drums sounded weird at first, but by the third song it was great.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at May 30,2005 6:56pm
yeah, you had to throw away the first 1 or 2 songs soundwise.
but after that, it cleared up.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at May 30,2005 7:06pm
joe you are wrong.
from ryan "Expect to see a full update from us regarding the fest and the bullshit experiences we had at the venue.
In general, it seemed most people had a great time. The schedule was on time the entire weekend and all of the bands kicked ass. We have no intention to discontinue this fest and would be more than happy to do it again in 2006. However, don't expect to see it at the same venue. More to come on the web site soon...."

toggletoggle post by joe/notcommon   at May 30,2005 7:39pm
Well thats great news!

toggletoggle post by CarrotsandSticks  at May 30,2005 7:51pm
problems with the venue?

toggletoggle post by joe/notcommon   at May 30,2005 7:52pm
Well, there was no re-entry day one, plus some of the staff members were total dicks. I don't think they were prepared for this fest at all.

toggletoggle post by joe/notcommon   at May 30,2005 7:52pm
Of course, I am just speculating based on my experience there.

toggletoggle post by CarrotsandSticks  at May 30,2005 7:56pm
no re-entry..... ughhhhhh

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at May 30,2005 7:57pm
it was no re-entry after 6pm.
which was a dumb rule.

toggletoggle post by anonymous at May 30,2005 8:38pm
This is Ryan. I'm moving to Europe, but the fest will not die. I have no idea where we will do it next, but most definitely not at the house of rock. The venue owner was my main concern as he's lucky my fist didn't knock his teeth out at the end of the second day. As for the sound, I heard pretty much every band. A few did not sound perfect, but in general I personally thought the sound was OK. It was not his fault regarding the equipment. Our second guitar amp for the backline blew a fuse and sparked and we had to scramble to solve the problem. I know he comes across as a dick sometimes, but the main thing is he gets things done and on time.

toggletoggle post by anonymous at May 30,2005 8:40pm
and regarding the no re-entry thing. I really don't know why that was suddenly enforced the first day. I know there were some kids ruining it for everyone by drinking beers out in the parking lot while police were in the vicinity. If it wasn't enforced, there would've been risked of the police shutting the show down...so what would be more important then?

toggletoggle post by AUTOPSY_666   at May 30,2005 9:34pm
Great fest, Ryan keep up the terrific work!

No complaints at all over here.

good, now next year I can hit both days. And maybe next year I can stay at a hotel that doesn't have valet guys that break into cars, steal $600 worth of shit, and then feed you lies while you wait an hour for baltimore's finest to show up.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at May 30,2005 9:45pm
I would like to thank dwyer for having an area that all of us could meet in and store some of our stuff. I got to watch the table a few times and flip that one dehumanized CD over and over, waiting to see how long it took you to fix it.
longest time: ~5minutes
shortest time: under 1 minute

I believe that the goratory - rice on seude cd was the #1 seller at this show.

toggletoggle post by DEATH2ALL  at May 30,2005 10:34pm
That sound guy actually returned about $1000.00 worth of equipment to me, after my drunk ass left it there 2 years ago. As ryan said... He may come off as a dick, but he get's the job done.

And Goratory Rules!!!!

toggletoggle post by AUTOPSY_666   at May 30,2005 10:43pm
WORMED, GORATORY and all of those Japanese CDs that I got in did very well.

I was able to trade off 100+ ANOXIA, 100+ TERATISM, 100+ DEHUMANIZED, and a bunch of CRYPTIC WARNING and BLOOD OBSESSION also.

The distro is stocked with loads of great new Metal.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at May 30,2005 10:45pm
the sound guy was kirt, but I laughed watching him.
people didn't get that the monitors were mixed on the side so they would sit there, looking at the sound board in the back of the room when the guys standing right next to them.
ha!

toggletoggle post by Kalopsia   at May 30,2005 10:49pm
yea dwyer thanks for holding my shit behind your merch table and paying for those shirts. i appreciate it

i've never spent so much money on beer in my life. first, beer was 4.25 at the venue and as the night went on, the price went up to 4.75! what the fuck is that?! plus there was no price difference between bottled or draft beer? the first night there was no re-entry so you couldn't go to your car and drink. well... maybe now the town of white marsh can afford those things they call calculators for the local school?sonofabitchfuckshitfuck.

toggletoggle post by joe/notcommon   at May 31,2005 7:38am
I was psyched to see my releases available through several vendors, and selling!

toggletoggle post by succubus  at May 31,2005 8:16am
yes,,the venue...people who worked there were nice,,but the owners...as the rev said, dwyer was nice enough to let us keep our things there and hang out, and it was right next to the food area...well let me say..prices went up 3 times...it's like, they saw people buying it and supply and demand led the fries go from 1.75 to 3.25...i think the prices went up 3 times
digusting...and the fact that you couldn't leave and had been there from 1pm to 1am....well, just not cool

toggletoggle post by joe/notcommon   at May 31,2005 8:17am
the soda prices kept going up as well, however, the CD prices fell

toggletoggle post by succubus  at May 31,2005 8:21am
even the soda?
when i bought you one it was 2.50 and for fountain soda i thought it was ridicoulous...how much was it after?

toggletoggle post by BestialOnslaught  at May 31,2005 8:26am
Who cares? Only pussies drink soda at shows!

toggletoggle post by joe/notcommon   at May 31,2005 8:28am
Well I would have drank water, but it cost more then the soda.

toggletoggle post by KeithMutiny  at May 31,2005 9:05am
I found it it nice that i only had to pay for one beer on sunday, the perks of having someone there that flirts with guys to get beer, then splits it with you.

toggletoggle post by AUTOPSY_666   at May 31,2005 12:14pm
Next years venue will be better.
