this has been an issue on my pc for a long time but it's getting worse and worse.
it seems that any website I go to that has an advertising banner on the top, my computer doesn't display anything but the top banner.
nothing will load on the page except the ad.

an example would be http://oldversion.com theres an add on that page, and all I can see is the add and the black background. this applies on all tripod, geocities,angelfire, fortunecity, and numbers of other websites.
any idea what the problem/solution is?

get adaware and run that.
I'm guessing you have some sort of spyware on your computer

get spybot. its free and it goddamn works! just google search for it.

You might want to make sure you've got the newest version of your web browser. Another good idea would be switching to a better browser like opera or better yet, firefox.

I have spy bot and adaware, it's not a spyware issue. and I'm using internet explorer 6.

are you using winxp sp2?
