I don't know what the heck happened Friday, but I was working on the inventory, I exit the file, usually I'm asked to save the file, nothing. So I tried to open it again to see if what I worked on had been saved. I said "Unable to read this file" and I just checked again, all my excel files says that now.
Any clue what the fuck is wrong? It freaks me out....I want my inventory back.

Grab a fistfull of steak knives and hold them in front of your face. Start headbanging furiously and the problem should be taken care of in no time.

hi ann are you double-clicking on the file or are you opening it from WITHIN excel?

I thought this was gonna be about the Suicidal band.

I know that it will give me an error message if I try to open an Excel file when I'm in Word. That's about all I know about it. Sorry. :(

this might be a case of praying you have a back up...
I would search for .xls files on yout computer and then for .tmp files that were modified and files with ~ in their names.

I have to wait til tomorrow. he's out sick today but when he does what he does, i'll take notes instead of just saying "yes" to everything and i'll let you know how to find it. i know there's a way.

we walked through it together....i made her create a new file and save it and then she got the message i was expecting...that she she recovered files and if she wanted to view them when she would run excel again...she said yes and when she saw the recovered files...it wouldn't recognize them =(

she cant' even open the file i asked her to create....
i was thinking it may be a virus or something...
she can't even get norton to open =(

I called my guy, he's coming later. I ain't praying, there's nobody to pray for. That would just teach me a lesson to back up my fucking files. Last backup was October 14th, that's almost 1 month of daily work. SHIT.
