toggletoggle post by Lincoln at Sep 28,2004 12:19pm

toggletoggle post by Lincoln at Sep 28,2004 12:27pm
Of course I will......wow has anyone else ever heard of Deep Purple besides us Carina? I can't even get Liz into them....and she's a Maiden/Preist fan!

toggletoggle post by succubus  at Sep 28,2004 12:29pm
hmm well i have a much older brother who got me into it

toggletoggle post by Lincoln at Sep 28,2004 12:33pm
Mario (the A.F. guitar player) really got me into them a long time ago...I have my parents to thank for first hearing them. But those guys are incredible. Ritchie Blackmore rules over all those other guitarists that try to be metal....in my opinion.

whoa whoa wait a second dude! what about Andy LaRocque from King Diamond?????

toggletoggle post by Lincoln at Sep 28,2004 12:38pm
Ehhhhh......well.....I think without Blackmore a lot of those guys wouldn't be doing what they're doing right now...but yeah he is good. I like the Mercyful Fate guys a bit better though.

Andy rules all.

Attacking Frequencies. I believe it's on November 5th (Friday) at O'Brien's...it's a Bostons Dead show. We go on 1st or 2nd.

toggletoggle post by Lincoln at Sep 28,2004 4:36pm
YEAH FIREBALL!!!!!!!! Damn man....all those albums up to like Stormbringer are just classic.

toggletoggle post by KING NOOSEBOMB at Sep 28,2004 4:42pm
WHAT DO YOU GUYS SOUND LIKE? ARE YOU A METAL BAND OR A HARD ROCK BAND OR WHAT? JUST CURIOUS, I NEVER HEARD YOU GUYS.

toggletoggle post by shatteredliz   at Sep 28,2004 4:47pm
Hmm, they are different sounding. They're interesting artsy but really heavy. It's odd-meter, metally, hard-core, music. Check it out at November's Boston's Dead!!!

toggletoggle post by Hooker  at Sep 28,2004 5:04pm
Yeah. My old man got me into them at an early age.

I like Rainbow alot more these days.

toggletoggle post by Josh_Martin at Sep 28,2004 5:08pm
I think Rainbow was proof that Jon Lord wrote all the really cool riffs.

toggletoggle post by Hooker  at Sep 28,2004 5:22pm
Sheeeeeeeeeeeit.

DP are sick. Definately the most underrated of the big three original metal bands (Zeppelin, Sabbath, Purple). I saw them a couple years ago with the Scorpions and Dio, but was rather disappointed. They did play Smoke on the Water, but didn't build into the riff like they do in the studio version. And the guitar player tried to give the riff some kinda jazzy swagger that just sounded lame and sloppy. If you're fortunate enough to play the classic riff that millions of kids have learned guitar to with the band that wrote the riff, then play it like it is, dammit!
Don't know why that pissed me off so much, actually. Maybe it wasn't that bad.
