at Redrum, which is across from the Box Of Knifes

Nobody knows when it starts but if anyone from MA is going and wants to detour through Holbrook then let me know.

It's their last show for a year, I think I heard.

This is the deal:
Devon (bass player) is going to Japan to teach for 1 year, so Dropdead would be on a hiatus during that time. This was the only day they could play, Ben is actually going to screen some posters for it.
The line-up so far:
Dropdead
White Mice from Providence noisy-metal kind of deal (more noisy than metal)
John Brown's Army aka J.B.A. from Albany, NY
one CT band (A.O.S.? The Total End? I dunno)

Show probably around 9pm/10pm, probably $5 or $6
BYOB, all ages, no hanging out outside.

Directions: from 95 North, take the Atwells Ave exit, take a right at the 2nd light (Broadway), keep going for about 1 mile, you go under a bridge (RT6) down at the bottom of the hill, you'll see a car wash on the left side of the street, take the street between the car wash and the plasma center, then first left, then first right. It's the building in the corner of Oak St. and ? shit I forgot. You'll hear the noise.

DRI's playing in Attleboro that night as well.

toggletoggle post by armageddonday   at Jul 20,2004 12:32pm
Yeah we know, but that was the only night Dropdead could play....I don't think it matters much anyway.

toggletoggle post by Joe/NotCommon   at Jul 20,2004 12:53pm

toggletoggle post by BornSoVile   at Jul 24,2004 3:45am
wow. amazing show. killer atmosphere too. totally ego-free. 200 kids dancing their asses off. an impressive girl boy ratio too. providence continues to stun me the more and more I see a shows there.
john brown army was pretty cool thrash. i'd like to get my hands on a release soon.
white mice was nuts. they lit off fireworks. i've never seen or heard them before.
dropdead was fucking killer. played a good long set. my first time seeing them as well. the singer was bleeding pretty bad from his hand. kids were going nuts everywhere except on the ceiling. i'd make a point to check these dudes out more often. good luck to the bass playah!!!!
this venue was pretty chill in typical onlyville fashion. there were two good size quarter pipes at both ends of the room for skating. there was a hammer head shark hanging from the ceiling too! that ribhouse next door is awesome. thank you to anne and ben for supplying some kegs of IPA, that was very generous!

boston should be jealous and ashamed of themselves.
This show was fucking nuts, 200 people going berserk and nobody gets hurt because they weren't a bunch of fags.
It's a shame Boston will never have venues like Redrum, and that so few people take responsibility for their own scene around here.
I think the term scene in Boston has taken a negative connotation, mostly because of the retardedness of the hardcore scene or the goofiness of the emo scene here. Nothing wrong with a bunch of people supporting good music they like if they have a good attitude about it.

Some of you should start checking out the Providence shows to see what I mean.

right on man providence rules boston drools

toggletoggle post by armageddonday   at Jul 27,2004 1:19pm
We didn't provide the kegs, but we paid for them...well from the door money. I have to say that was a good show, I can't believe I was stuck at the door for so long, it was fucking killing me....nobody gets hurts, never, but we hurt ourselves by moshing too much. I'm covered with bruises, my knee scar from my bike crash reopended cause I fell on the floor during the pit, and I also lost my pad that night which is a first for me, I woke up no pad plenty of blood...and I checked the trash in the morning, nothing. I hope I lost it outside when I went to take a piss and not in Redrum....

toggletoggle post by succubus  at Jul 27,2004 1:29pm
you mean pad as in maxi pad?

oh boy...without getting too graphic...there is no way i could just lose a pad or have one fall out without me noticing

je porte celles de nuit pour la plus part du temps =)

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Jul 27,2004 1:35pm
peut-etre elle etait ivre?

toggletoggle post by Terence   at Jul 27,2004 1:46pm
The scene around boston is not really taken that seriously, with all the emo mullet fags around...I wouldnt blame someone for not taking it seriously.

toggletoggle post by -l-invertedcorpse-l- at Jul 27,2004 2:27pm
Emo-Mullett

toggletoggle post by Joe/NotCommon   at Jul 27,2004 3:05pm
The Boston metal scene needs to work on creating itself.

toggletoggle post by armageddonday   at Jul 27,2004 3:15pm
Yeah, pad as maxi pad (it was a regular size)...I know I just can't believe that. I mean, I was seriously wasted, but this is the first time it happened to me. I just hope I took it out and forgot to put a new one on but as I said I checked both trash at home and no sign of it...Oh well, good luck to the one who found it ;)

toggletoggle post by Deathcow   at Jul 27,2004 3:50pm
Now that's a souveneir.

toggletoggle post by succubus  at Jul 27,2004 4:04pm

toggletoggle post by Christraper at Jul 27,2004 4:06pm

Sounds like a lawsuit waiting to happen.

A sexy lawsuit... but a lawsuit nonetheless.

toggletoggle post by armageddonday   at Jul 27,2004 4:51pm
Well, it all depends what side of the pad fell on the floor if it's the bloody side or the sticky one...even though they were probably both sticky by then...

toggletoggle post by Deathcow   at Jul 27,2004 4:56pm
It'd be pretty awesome if a married guy stepped on the sticky side, and brought home a surprise guest. Try explaining that to the wife.
