GHOUL: BrooklynVegan Premiere Title Track From "Transmission Zero" - GWAR Tour Starts TONIGHT!

Brooklyn Vegan's Fred Pessaro has posted a bushel of new GHOUL tracks for your listening (dis)pleasure, including the debut of Transmission Zero's ripping corpse of a title track! The other three songs have been floating around in the ether for the past few weeks as the hooded menaces have been busily preparing to hit the road with gorefathers GWAR on the Return of the Maggot Tour. The madness kicks off at Amos Southend in Charlotte, NC tonight!

Feast your ears upon some bloody new GHOUL cuts here: http://www.brooklynvegan.com/archives/2011/10/ghoul_releasing.html#more and check out a slew of Pessaro's awesome photos from GHOUL's recent guerrilla performance at California Discord Fest: http://www.brooklynvegan.com/archives/2011/09/california_disc.html

Joined by EVERY TIME I DIE, the gruesome quartet will be supporting GWAR on twenty dates across the USA, and doing their best to leave a trail of bloodied corpses from sea to shining sea. GHOUL (who are rumored to contain members of IMPALED and ENGORGED) will be unleashing a slew of brand-new songs fromTransmission Zero ( due out on Tankcrimes 11/8!). The album was recorded by Sal Reya at Earhammer Studios in Oakland, CA, and features eleven fresh new cuts of GHOUL's trademark death-thrashing crossover mayhem.

In addition, GHOUL's latest act of aural aggression, Transmission Zero, is now streaming in its entirely on Decibel Magazine's subscriber-only channel. Already got a subscription to the mag? Enter in your password and prepare to be blown away! http://www.decibelmagazine.com/album-streams/

FRIDAY! PUMPED!

toggletoggle post by demondave at Oct 18,2011 8:02pm
I am really juggling things and pushed to the limit, but I am still going this Friday. I should put on a ghoul mask for the occasion. Any body hazard a guess as to when Ghoul would go on stage? are there more than three bands?

I believe it's just the three bands and Ghoul is opening. Looking forward to this Party.

you sure it's at 7:30 for Ghoul? the palladium is known for starting before the schedule start time.

uh oh

That is what the website says.

Well then I'll just get there at 6:30 to be safe.

And somehow I've managed to make it to age 24 and countless shows without ever going to the Palladium. Let's see how badly this place will want to make me never go back.

GWAR actually sounds good there.. ICP too

Have a few coctails. It will sound the bomb.

toggletoggle post by Lamp  at Oct 21,2011 3:55pm
Both times I've seen GWAR were at Lupo's and I haven't seen them in five years so I can't even remember the sound.

train broke down in boston. I am not getting there until 8:30 and will miss GHOUL :(

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Oct 21,2011 7:46pm
Ghoul went on at 7:30. Doors were at 7. Ghoul's got a bunch o stage antics that are funny. Some guy just geeked a chicken and tossed fake blood all over the crowd. Surprise surprise front row.

toggletoggle post by KEVORD  at Oct 21,2011 7:53pm
Ghoul is kickin ass.

You missed GHOUL not GWAR.

Also, we should actually meet IRL.

He looks surprising a lot like rich horror is rich did the whole life thing right.

toggletoggle post by KEVORD  at Oct 21,2011 8:56pm
Every Time I Die making fun of Gwar when Gwar took their lame metalcore asses on tour is the gayest thing ever.

toggletoggle post by Demondave squished into a basement at Oct 21,2011 8:59pm
Ooooo. Every time I die is on. That is the healing salve for missing GHOUL. Like soothing salt in an open wound.

I'm at the bar in a beat up black vital remains shirt. Bald and goatee.
Facing the band.
Contemplating going down the rich horror lifestyle gauntlet

toggletoggle post by Demondave squished into a basement at Oct 21,2011 10:16pm
I like how Gwar don't kick out crap and tour and play the same songs over and over. You have to admit that they are into the newer material

toggletoggle post by KEVORD  at Oct 21,2011 10:42pm
Gwar's from outerspace.

toggletoggle post by Demondave squished into a basement at Oct 21,2011 10:56pm

toggletoggle post by Lamp  at Oct 22,2011 12:23am
Ghoul kicked ass. They played some of my favorites from Splatterthrash, the new songs sounded cool, and there were even some unexpected theatrics from the Killbot.

ETID was horrible beyond description, but that was obvious enough already.

GWAR was GWAR. The new stuff sounded cool, I stayed way away from the front because I didn't feel like getting sprayed with anything this time and I didn't want to get stage dived on and I certainly didn't feel like getting squashed by the legions of worthless fagmos up front. This gave me an opportunity to truly observe the shenanigans in action. I'd never really paid much attention to Jizmak before, plus I was able to get a better feel for how the fuck those guys play the songs while wearing those big bulky suits, a feat in itself. The blood spray seemed pretty tame especially compared to the first time I saw them (w/ Alabama Thunderpussy and Mensrea at Lupo's in Jan. '05), but I guess the bad economy is forcing all kinds of wacky businesses to make serious budget cuts. My friends and I only watched them for 40 minutes or so and then went to Flats to get some pizza (which has expanded to ruining metal, not just hardcore anymore).

The Palladium was EXACTLY the same as Lupo's. Half the time I was standing in there I actually thought I was in Lupo's and I fucking hate that place. This was a pretty good reminder of why I don't go to shows like this... tons of overnighters who don't go to many shows throwing up the horns every chance they got, too many retard neanderthals intentionally going the wrong way in the circle pit and punching people, and just flat out too many fucking attention seeking idiots. We all had to start out somewhere I guess. If Ghoul wasn't opening, there's no way I would have ever gone, but it was a good night overall.

toggletoggle post by demondave at Oct 22,2011 12:44am

I was at the bar for most of it. The best GWAR war story I ever heard tonight was from a girl that got kicked out of her prom and hooked up with friends going to GWAR that night. She showed up to the show in a prom dress and bee hive hairdo and got splattered. She's been a fan ever since.

Disappointed by the lack of 8-strings. I rather liked that last year. :(

toggletoggle post by KEVORD  at Oct 22,2011 11:33am
My only complaint from last night was the lack of murdered celebrities. They only killed a Jersey shore chick and the rest were all monsters.

This is a time-honored tradition at the Palladium. I see it every time a pit forms at this place. I've been there a bunch of times and I don't have the same hate for it that some people do.

I liked Ghoul quite a bit, first time I saw them. The robot was funny.
I'll also admit to enjoying ETID. I wouldn't say I'm a "fan" but I liked watching them play.
Gwar was entertaining. I think the show could've used another band considering how early it ended (or at least started later so more people could've seen Ghoul). Would've been more fun watching a little more music instead of sitting in that parking garage for a billion hours along with the hockey game spectators. Overall though it was a really entertaining show.

toggletoggle post by KEVORD  at Oct 22,2011 6:22pm
Don't ever pay for parking in Worcester. Especially in a parking garage. If you drive around a little you can always find on street parking.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Oct 22,2011 6:36pm
I don't pay either, but you have to know what you are doing or you will park on the hill and get your car contents liberated. Also, they never ticket in wormtown either.

toggletoggle post by Lamp  at Oct 22,2011 6:37pm
One of my friends I hung out with last night has a sister who works and lives in Worcester and scored both himself and me some free off-street parking not too far away. Was psyched about that.

The best part of watching ghoul is knowng that it is sean and ross.

toggletoggle post by Mark_R at Oct 22,2011 7:11pm
By the hill you mean the steep hill that begins north of main street? I've been able to get free parking a block south of the Palladium, but I didn't think there'd be anything available due to the extra hockey traffic.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Oct 22,2011 7:57pm
I parked just fine. That hill will lose you your Walkman.

toggletoggle post by KEVORD  at Oct 22,2011 9:37pm
I parked right across the street from the court house.

toggletoggle post by Bloblovesmusic at Oct 22,2011 9:47pm

the only problem that has happened there is that one ICP show, 22 cars had both tires stabbed.

I park on the hill sometimes. But in my 14 years of Palladium shows I've never paid cash money.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Oct 22,2011 11:40pm
I think the only time I paid for parking was when slayer and fear factory played. I think that was either 1997 or 1998

September 5, 1998 (Palladium- Worcester, Mass)-Slayer, Fear Factory, Kilgore

I was at that show. I think I've seen Slayer everytime they've played the Palladium.

Made it just in time to miss Ghoul and just in time to leave before Gwar. Every Time I Die writes sick riffs based off a d-beat influence mixed with an experimental technicality and southern groove. Making fun of etid in 2011 for being girly is like saying Megadeth is the best thrash band in 2011.

When I think of Every Time I Die I think of Discharge meets Cynic and Exhorder or Shitty Metalcore. I forget which.

Shitty metalcore -- go with that one. ETID is fucking awful (and gay).
