A special selection of movies hand picked by Ipsissimus will be shown...
"Born of Fire" is a Bi-Monthly Metal night at O'Brien's Pub in Allston, MA on the FIRST and THIRD Thursday of every month.
You'll hear the best in Classic and Current Metal / Hardcore DJ'ed, see movies shown on the HDTV's all night (Horror, Sci-Fi, Action, Kung Fu, Etc.), and get the best local and regional metal bands playing live.
Also make sure whatever movies you guys bring have ENGLISH SUBTITLES..make sure to check it out and make sure they work...there are tons of awesome horror movies that don't have them for some unknown reason and it's key to showing movies at my night as the volume is down on the TVs.
Not 100% yet but We're prob going to do a Withered (http://www.myspace.com/withered) listening party early and 12" vinyl giveaway as well at this. Mark from Prosthetic just needs to get back to me and we'll get it sorted.
nice. Still working on that Until the Light Takes us screening as well. We'll coordinate movies if that comes to pass.

Bump.
Also, Dearest Mr. Wells, you wouldn't happen to have any more of those fancy color flyers would you? Going to Worcester this weekend and then hitting up the streets in Boston on Sunday.
If you do, awesome.. let's figure out a time to meet.. North Beacon seems to be the place to do this.
The screening will happen at 8:00, with full sound, and be on 2 HDTV's.
"Until The Light Takes Us tells the story of black metal. Part music scene and part cultural uprising, black metal rose to worldwide notoriety in the mid-nineties when a rash of suicides, murders, and church burnings accompanied the explosive artistic growth and output of a music scene that would forever redefine what heavy metal is and what it stands for to other musicians, artists and music fans worldwide.
Until The Light Takes Us goes behind the highly sensationalized media reports of "Satanists running amok in Europe" to examine the complex and largely misunderstood principles and beliefs that led to this rebellion against both Christianity and modern culture. To capture this on film, directors Aaron Aites and Audrey Ewell moved to Norway and lived with the musicians for several years, building relationships that allowed them to create a surprisingly intimate portrait of this violent, but ultimately misunderstood, movement. The result is a poignant, moving story
that’s as much about the idea that reality is composed of whatever the most people believe, regardless of what’s actually true, as it is about a music scene that blazed a path of murder and arson across the northern sky."

The Withered listening will happen immediately after the movie is done. Pass it on.

Ugh. Movie kinda sucked
post by nekronautnli at Oct 14,2010 5:47pm
it is what it is. hopefully it will draw some extra people out that may not have heard/seen our bands but generally like good bm (bowel movements.. i don't give a fuck about black metal) and haven't seen the flick yet
i wish there was a director's cut of this movie with abbath/demonaz drunk commentary throughout.
there's a lot of this in "Once Upon a Time in Norway," which is mostly interviews Messiah, Hellhammer, Neddo (Anders from Cadaver), and Abbath and Demonaz. The latter are sitting in director's chairs wielding tall boys and just laughing at everything. It's the only doc. (to my knowledge) where the musicians are speaking in Norwegian (it does have subs). Fave black metal doc!
If you guys want to play first and then take off that is ok with me. Whatever you guys want to do.
post by goatcatabisk at Oct 15,2010 8:58pm
11 is cool if those are still accurate times. Can't really go on past that tho. Thanks for being accommodating. Work and long-ass drive and shit. You know the score. Whitey,,, he's a motherfucker
Well, the first band usually starts later (between 10 and 10:30) depending on the crowd. If you guys want to switch it it's cool with me. Whatever works best for everyone. The man is keeping you down!
post by goatcatabisk at Oct 15,2010 9:40pm
Many thanks. we weren't sure what was up with the Until... doc playin first n stuff. We just gotta play by 11 so we can be on the road by midnight. If it's best for us to go on first, that's what we'll do. No egos or any poop here, brah. Just wageslavery. Fuck Whitey

BTW- any headway being made on that "living altar" for me, Zack? Also- do you know any reliable taxidermists?
Maybe Blue could get the trannies from the sexcrement show to be the alter?
post by goatcatabisk at Oct 18,2010 12:16pm
11 is perfect, Zack; many thanks. Y'know, trannies are Sexcrement's schtik - I'll let them continue to lord over that domain. I just thought there might be some Allston graveyard slut looking to put herself on the map (again- if anyone knows that slammin' blonde bartender from Harpers Ferry...) but my pheromones being so goddamn, I just might head down a little early and do some altar-wrangling myself.
Couple my occult pheromones with this placenta-derived conditioner that I commissioned from Trevor Sorbie himself and well... this looks to be a landmark evening for American Black Metal (sorry, Von).
I just had baked stuft shrimps and a succulent fettucini alfredo with broccoli and a Foxon Park cream soda. This evening's performance will be exemplary.

we actually have a friend that does taxidermy...ross is living with her right now in cambridge.
not anymore, the whereabouts of this shadow lurker known as "ross" has been scientifically proven to remain slightly anonymous or is subject to change from any duration of a short few days to anywhere between 2-3 months. the feeding ground remains towards the north shore..

maybe he doesnt want to be found...although he did call me earlier and told me where he was
Great night. Thanks Zack and you morbid Nachzehrer Satans!

How to Perform a Ritual of Visualization of Intent

Perform a Ritual of Visualization of Intent
User-Submitted Article
It all begins in the mind: this is what everybody keeps reminding us. Well, let us visualize our intent, then. This ritual, which takes as long or as short as you would like, would help you focus your energies into one fervent image of just one fervent wish or desire that you have. For example, for the purposes of our discussion, let's say that your desire is to visualize the intent of meeting your soul mate soon. But it could be anything: getting that dream job, obtaining a raise, conceiving a child or paying off a loan!
Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
Things You'll Need:
Materials to represent Fire, Earth, Air and Water
Writing materials
A space free of clutter and people
Serenity of emotions
An attitude of gratitude
1- Gather materials to represent Fire, Earth, Air and Water. For example, lighted candles can represent fire. Choose the number of candles that have some significance for you, like 9 votive candles since 9 is the number of the planet Mars, according to astrologer Linda Goodman. Mars is the planet of swift action, so if you want swift action in the case you are visualizing, 9 is the way to go. Again, this is just an example. You may have your own significant or favorite number that makes more sense to you. The important thing is that the number makes personal sense to you alone. For the element of Earth, you can get a pinch of soil or pluck a fresh flower from your garden. Be creative in gathering a symbol for each of the four elements and bring them all to the place where you will not be disturbed.
2- Gather your writing materials. As you meditate later, you will receive vivid images that you will then write down uninterrupted, uncensored, with no erasures and hesitations whatsoever. Writing is the closest thing we have to the reality of our thoughts. Writing is the first step to concretizing our thoughts in the material plane. Therefore, it is important that the color of your paper symbolizes faith, hope, and/or strong belief to you personally. To me, this color is either yellow or gold. The color of your writing tool must signify fast action. To me, the color of this writing tool must therefore be red. But then again, you will decide on the color scheme that symbolizes the abovementioned qualities (hope and fast action) to you!
3- Find a space that is free of clutter and people. Draw an imaginary circle of protective white light around you.
4- Light the candles. Begin with this chant firmly as you linger on the materials you gathered to represent each element: " I am born of fire, I am blessed by fire. I am born of air, I am blessed by air. I am born of water, I am blessed by water. I am born of the earth, I am blessed by the earth. So I image, so let it be."
5- Close your eyes, concentrate and breathe deeply for a couple of times. Let your emotions be serene and let your intuition guide you freely. When the images become clear in your mind, take your writing materials and write down or describe the image that you see in your mind. Make sure that you write nonstop with no hesitations or erasures. For example, in the "meeting my soul mate" intent we used as an example for the purposes of this article, as you image it in your mind, you can write down something like: "I am blessed because my man is by my side. I have abundance in my heart. I see him walking beside me by the lake. We are holding hands and looking into each other's eyes. He pulls me closer to him and he kisses me tenderly. He tells me simply that he loves me and that he has been waiting for me all his life..." Note that everything is written in the present tense. It is as if everything is happening right now.
6- After you are done with your writing, fold your paper into the number of times which to you symbolizes fast action. Then keep it in a place where it will be undisturbed for a long time.
7- Forget about the ritual you have just done. Let faith take over and let the Elements and the Universe do their work. Trust that everything is in the process of becoming!

Crowley practiced visualization of intent not by writing sigils, but stimulating himself. In other words, he spent a week thinking about gold while he jerked off and then inherited a pile of money.
