New site? Maybe some day.
Didn't go on Sunday but hitting this up after work today, should be cool. |
he does some really cool shit |
this was pretty awesome. the rest of the museum was also unexpectedly cool. lessons learned from my visit: kevorkian is a seriously interesting and multifaceted/talented dude, turks are giant assholes, and armenians are the grimmest of peoples. |
ya i watched a documentary on him. i want one of those cool viser hats he invented. |
acid bath made a good decision with his art work |
THATS where i saw that before. shit was drivin me nuts |
although gacy's work they had on the first album is just a tad creepier |
when is the exhibit's last day? |
i expected alot of death themes but was surprised by how political some of his artwork was: anti-war, a lot of focus on genocide, commentary on slavery and racism, criticism of organized religion, etc. |
when is the exhibit's last day? |
i think it comes down sunday. |
Yeup. Pagan Terrorism Tactics FTW.
I took some pictures while I was there, will post when I get to work. Some really cool stuff.
The guy working at the museum was great. Very knowledgeable and helpful.. his insights into Armenian history really added to the experience of the museum and made it worthwhile even if the Kevorkian exhibit wasn't there..
The best part was the way back though.. crazy bus driver on the 71 route yelling about how a neon sign of a slice of pizza inside a shop looked really good.. cheesey joke is cheesey |
armenian genocide? what's that?
- America |
lol my history teacher was armenian and used to bitch about THOSE DAMN TURK BASTARDS |

my polish grandma was the same way about germans or anything german-related. she would be rolling in her grave if she knew the pope was now a german.
... and a former hitler youth at that |
"grandma, it's not nice to wish that wall would crush people while its comin down. most of them weren't even alive in '39" |
armenian genocide? what's that?
- America |
+10xp |
The Holocaust never happened.
So this isn't all of the paintings on display but these were my favorites.. another interesting feature about the exhibit is that each work had a description written by Jack. They were pretty twisted but smartly written and added a lot to the pieces they accompanied.
"For He Is Raised"
"Genocide" (It should be noted that this one is actually framed with human blood -didn't say if it was his or not- around the barbed wire)
"Fa-la-la-la, La-la-la-LA"
"Nearer My God to Thee"
"Very Still Life" (My personal favorite even before this exhibit)
"Fever"
"Paralysis"
"Coma" (Second favorite)
"Bach"
"War"
FUCKING AWESOME
"Nearer My God to Thee"

^ This depicts how most human beings feel about dying -- at least about their own deaths. Despite the solace of hypocritical religiosity and its seductive promise of an after-life of heavenly bliss. Most of us will do anything to thwart the inevitable victory of biological death. We contemplate and face it with great apprehension, profound fear, and terror. Sparing no financial or physical sacrifice, pleading wantonly and unashamedly, clutching any hope of salvation through medicine or prayer. How forbidding that dark abyss! How stupendous the yearning to dodge its gaping orifice. How inexorable the engulfment. Yet, below are the disintegrating hulks of those who have gone before; they have made the insensible transition and wonder what the fuss is all about. After all, how excruciating can nothingness be? |
Will this be there on Sunday? I went to the ALMA website and it was about as helpful as you'd think it'd be. |
SWEET! I just got off the phone with the museum curator. This is on extended display until October. I'm definitely going again before it's gone.
Museum Hours
Thursday 6:00 - 9:00 PM

wow i hope you know that your level of intellect is shoddy at best. i hope you unserstand that just becasue some piece of dirt has a problem with religion doesnt mean you damned anarchists need to start bashing every concept of this world that you disagree with. im not even religious persay and i disagree with your follish and pointless bantering. good luck being ignorant. |
and i realize i spelled things wrong, though your apparent level of intelligence begs the question whether you did or not. |
oh and nekronaut, i read you little august 27th blerb, and i would call it a complaint at best. your words are trifling, and you seem to love to talk without purpose. your thoughts are seemingly mere jumbles of stupidity and i plead that you dont drag others down to your level of idiocy. maybe you'll find another way to indulge yourself rather than trying to be some under ground operator, who feels they have priority over logic and morality. and becasue i know you dont undewrstand what it is im saying, ill simply say, way to be a fool. |
uh oh, someone's got a secret admirer. |
that rant from "youareallstupid" seems incredibly random and unprovoke. strange |
probably just some wingnut who googled 'kevorkian' or 'armenian' or whatever and stumbled across the thread. looks like they used a thesaurus to pepper their rant with ten cent words. trifling. heh. |

if only i'd known how cool death is, i'd have killed myself sooner. |
Haha was that written by nekronaut? From his prior post, I thought he was quoting what kevorkian wrote about the piece... |
