New site? Maybe some day.
Just saw him as my train was pulling in. They're filming the movie "Day and Night" or something stupid like that.
Pretty sure he was wearing sun glasses too. What's with this dude? |
Maybe his contact lens have been irritating him. I know even on gray days I need to wear sunglasses after a bad allergy day.
No, obviously he's a raging doucheking. |
Scientology protest later? |
Best Tom Cruise movie = Top Gun or The Last Samurai. can't decide.
I guess I'll toss Eyes Wide Shut in there only because you get to see what's her name n00ked. |
Best Tom Cruise movie = Worst Tom Cruise movie |
I'm going to say The Last Samurai.
Top Gun is easily the best movie to look for thinly veiled gay behavior that went completely unrecognized because it was the 80s.
I swear to god, that movie was a love story between Val Kilmer and Tom Cruise. |
The youtube video clip of Matt Lauer ripping him a new one is priceless |
What was that Nascar movie? Grease Lightning? that was a thrill ride of ghey. |
fuck...I loved Days of Thunder when I was a little kid. I need to re-watch for the ghey. |
i had a dream last night that i met Dee Snider. he was a douche too. |
Magnolia is his best because he basically just plays himself and that movie rules. |
I'm just waiting for someone to throw out a Bury Your Dead joke. |
Ha, Days of Thunder how could I forget. Grease Lightning is that car in Grease, if my memory serves me right. Lighting, Thunder - close enough.
The Last Samarai was indeed a good movie though, even the ending is really the opposite of what happened in real life.
What's with all these historical movies that are completely inaccurate? |
I'm sure it's a publicist or agent saying, "Tom won't do this unless X, Y, and Z happen in the movie. No one knows the real history who will see this in theaters, so if you want asses in the seats you'll do it."
Either that or "focus groups"....fucking focus groups. |
There hasn't been a good, solid historical/epic movie since Gladiator.
Troy, King Arthur, Alexander - those all failed in my book. |
Magnolia is his best because he basically just plays himself and that movie rules. |
That was a great movie. He's fucking nuts.
But I gotta go with The Last Samurai. It's a great depiction of Japan's westernization and I think it's underappresh'd |

Definitely. But since you're a history buff, correct me if I'm wrong - didn't Japan choose to HAVE the treaty? In the movie, the Emperor rejects the treaty after Tom Cruise stumbles in; I thought in reality Japan actually accepted the treaty which opened the doors up for more westernization, including the game of baseball. |

Fuck yeah, I'm downloading the extended cut now.
If you liked Gladiator you gotta check out the Rome HBO series. Gladiator is romanticized but Rome tries for more accuracy and the acting is fucking fantastic. |
Shit, I forgot about that. I really wanted to see that. How many episodes are there? That's out on DVD, right? That'd be a good thing to buy |
Fellini's Satyricon is very historically accurate. |
Never saw that. I would like to see an actual accurate depiction of historical events.
Braveheart, Gladiator, among others - all great movies, but the inaccuracies are a drawback. But it's Hollywood, what do you expect.. |
Van Helsing was historically accurate. |
Definitely. But since you're a history buff, correct me if I'm wrong - didn't Japan choose to HAVE the treaty? Haha yeah it's not really accurate - Commodore Perry knocked on their door with a monstrous fleet of warships and demanded they open their ports for trade. The emperor was given a few months to decide and finally accepted because essentially they had nothing to match western firepower and there were many upper class Japanese that were already "westernized" and were in for a money bomb.
But I thought the schism between feudal Japan and the ruling class was represented well.
And Tom Cruise can be a good actor and I like his movies but I would stay far away from him if I saw him on the street. |
Shit, I forgot about that. I really wanted to see that. How many episodes are there? That's out on DVD, right? That'd be a good thing to buy |
It is and I was going to purchase it but I could only find it for $75 for each season (2 seasons) and since I have digital copies...fuck that. |
Magnolia or Vanilla Sky. No, on second thought Magnolia because if you get sick of looking at the dude's face there are actually other characters involved. |
nothing like good ol' imperialism. |
I'd give you money if you could somehow burn those, but that'd be too time consuming. I'll see if I can DL them, I guess. 150 bucks for 2 seasons of a show is a tad much |
I actually thought Open Your Eyes (the film Vanilla Sky was based on) was a lot better. |
Tom Cruise was at Worcester Airport filming for this movie recently. Spider Gates is right around the corner, i was hoping for something epic to happen and he would get swallowed up by the 8th gate to Hell.
the best Tom Cruise role goes to Tropic Thunder. |
this movie was so bad i wanted to cry at the fact that i saw it in the theater. the ending was like getting kicked in the balls. |

I can burn them as data onto a DVD no problem. Downside is, I think I only have the second season lying around. Main story arc of the first season is shared between a Caesar and Pompeii's military expeditions, and a couple Roman soldiers in Rome, and the second season is Caesar's return to Rome, and the soldier's newfound dedication to Hades... it's a powerful series.
Talking about it makes me really want to actually buy it, I'll find a used copy somewhere and burn em. |

movie is HILARIOUS, laughed my ass off the whole time |
Tropic Thunder was historically accurate. |
Sweet. That sounds pretty good. Totally forgot about that series.
Rome was a pretty epic city to visit. I remember trying to smuggle a brick of the Coliseum back to the states but something didn't sit right with me |
ahhahaha...careful stealing artifacts, you'll be among the many who get SWAT teams blowing down their doors. |
Let him, then they can make a historically accuate film about it. |
there is only one truly historically accurate movie. Lord of the Rings. the events happened in real time. |
Let him, then they can make a historically accuate film about it. |
Haha. You know you want a historically accurate film too.
The best part of Rome was the catacombs. Dead christian remnants from centuries ago - walls made of human skulls, miles of tunnel. Definitely was worth splitting off from the tour group. |
Nah, I think the Ents would have needed more time to meditate the issue. |
Goddammit, if this shit fucks up my commute to work today I'm going to be quite displeased. |

Nah, i think they've blocked off one of the roads behind south station. that's where they were filming it. it's essentially right under the exit 20 bridge |
I'm sure there's going to be a huge and unnecessary crowd in the area going ballistic that a famous actor is there. I'm going to dispatch the hurt on Tom Cruise. |
mark please derail mr cruises train. thnx |

last year when mel gibson was there it was ridiculous. you could barely move - they took over the whole ground level minus the food area. |
boston is the hottest spot in the country right now for movies.. not to mention the movie studios they're building in plymouth. not too sure what to think about that. |
HE FOLLOW ME ALL THE WAY FROM LYNNFIELD!! |
go up to him and tell him aliens aren't real or you're a pussy |
go up to him and tell him aliens aren't real or you're a pussy |
lol, I would, but there's been major developments on that front. i keep reading and hearing that there's going to be some sort of alien disclosure before christmas. |
there wont be any disclosure. at least nothing substantial or beneficial to mankind |
generally that's my take on it. at least with the US gov't. France and Russia, Mexico, Brazil - they've all released their files on UFOs. Not quite sure why the US doesn't acknowledge that.
anyway, back to hollywood.. |
I think that's why this is happening
http://plymouthrockstudios.com/home.html |
yea dude. couple that with the proposed casino in my town, my whole areas going to have crime everywhere. It's already started. You can't even walk around middleboro at night without seeing these "gangs" walking around.
Shit used to be a nice little farm town |
this movie was so bad i wanted to cry at the fact that i saw it in the theater. the ending was like getting kicked in the balls. |
haha yeah the ending of Vanilla Sky was dicks. Bigtime. When he realizes he needs to call for "tech support" and they explain the whole thing to him I kind of did the Chief Wiggum hand wipe thing in my mind and just checked out. |
the only thing even remotely redeeming about that movie is hearing Cameron Diaz say "but i swallowed your cum!". |
Hahaha, does she really say that? I'm going to have to watch it now. |
Why don't you ask her. She's in Boston too. |
Magnolia, Top Gun, and Rainman are the only good tom cruise movies |
Why don't you ask her. She's in Boston too. |
my sister works in Boston and Cameron Diaz came into her restaurant, she said they sat and chatted for a few hours. she said that Diaz spent an unreasonable amount of time telling her how when she was in Nepal they only had outhouses which were holes in the ground, and a giant millipede almost crawled up her vagina. i'm completely serious. |
thats one lucky millipede |
thats one lucky millipede |
she was slamming in the mask. But have you seen her pics without makeup? |
A Few Good Men
Born on the Fourth of July
Legend
The Firm
these are my favs |

Was it that "moo" restaurant or whatever? |

Beacon Hill Bistro |
Minority Report & the newer War of the Worlds weren't bad either.
But Speilburg is on a serious decline. When is he going to release a quality sci-fi flick again? |
I think War of the Worlds could have been more historically accurate though. |

Apparently he's making the Ghost in the Shell live action (with no CGI). As a GitS fan, my friend is completely backing this, but I still remain skeptical. |
At risk of mass ridicule, I'll say that I really like Tom Cruise's movies. Can't say there's a movie (that I can think of) that I really dislike. Sure he may be a dirty Scientologist but my grandmother's rather fond of that carpenter kikezombie. I bet he'd be a fucking blast to hang out with. |
I think War of the Worlds could have been more historically accurate though. |
True. Could have stayed a little more true to the actualy book.
Come on now. Hollywood distorts historical accuracies because drama and story-telling to a dumb audience is more important than reported history. You know this. |
the only thing even remotely redeeming about that movie is hearing Cameron Diaz say "but i swallowed your cum!". |
Then she drives Tom Cruise off that bridge. Also pretty win. |
Minority Report & the newer War of the Worlds weren't bad either. |
the first half of War of the Worlds was awesome, and Cruise was awesome in it. the second half blew ass. |

I didn't think the second half was terrible, but I feel like it could have been perfect if the aliens were not seen.
Tom Cruise was perfect for that roll since the character in the book is an asshole. |
Alex Trebek: Tom Cruise, you are in third place, so the board is yours.
Tom Cruise: I, a...[ laughs ], I, a...[ laughs ], I, a...[ laughs ], I, a...[ laughs ]
