Posting this simply because I found it to be a great piece of writing. Easily comprehensible, practical, and most importantly: Honest. Awakening into existence is comparable to being dropped within a vast and chaotic ocean. You have to form your own raft, which is crafted out of survival and self-determination. One must shun group-think, one must utilize their intelligence and experiences; in order to keep progressing as a functional and productive human being. Sink or swim. Strive for fulfillment but never reach contentment. Form your own values and discard useless one's. As it is stated within, life is about bettering yourself and the world around you. A recommended read for the aimless and self-deluded.

how do you contruct a raft when you are dumped into an ocean without materials to do so?

Well that's the conundrum of life, isn't it? You're thrown into it with practically no resources. When you're a child, hopefully you have good parents that will provide you with guidance, but many do not even have that. They have nothing. Maybe through determination you keep swimming against the currents and eventually find land? When you're finally beached, you'll discover more resources available to you, that weren't in the ocean, itself. It continues on from there.
