Fireworks <3

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 20,2009 2:10pm
free spirit: awesome energy to start out the show with. Lots of kids knew their words. Plus the floor, minutes after doors was full and moving.

rotting out: minor threat sounding hardcore, sign me up. This my be my new favorite band of the fest. Even more people and a core of dudes singing along in the front.

bad seed: first stage dives of the night.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 20,2009 2:52pm edited Sep 20,2009 3:50pm
fireworks: i would probably dig them a lot more if i knew their songs. Feels like i have seen them a bunch of times.

title fight: members of badseed. For a band that idk, the response was ridiculous. Similar set up on stage as fys, but this was on the other stage so no barricade. The sound dudes guarded their monitors like they were gold. Lots of stage diving too.

wrecking crew: im sure there are people in the audience that were born after wrecking crew broke up. The crowd might not even know these guys as a band they are suppose to put on their fb/ms and say they like though they have never heard them before. If they arent on your fb/ms and you front like you like hardcore this month, race home and add them. Even their negative approach cover only won over a few people.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 20,2009 3:50pm
powertrip: late 80's thrash mixed with hardcore. This lead the band with sweet riffs and songs about nukes. The singer looks just like what i remember the singer of no warning. He also had on a magical shirt that was red until i took a pic of it and then it turned black.

banner, the: no misfits cover, but it is good to see them playing in front of a hardcore crowd again. It was also hilarious watch the singer fumble and fail with the confoundingly simple mic chord knot around his foot. A failure like that is how someone ends up being dragged by horses or going down with the anchor in the movies.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 20,2009 3:51pm
wow.. that sucks.. my phone jjust edited over some reviews...

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 20,2009 5:07pm
foundation: their set was wicked powerful. Very glad to see them on the stage with out the barricade.

mongoloids, the: im always unsure of anyone in the band other than the singer. Still, they are always well received. The singer ended up enveloped by the crowd. Will have to look for him in the pictures.

bracewar: i think this is my first time seeing them. They are amazing. The crowd was singing along to every thing. Even though they were fairly powerviolencey.

carrier, the: just like they always are. The set was nothing short of epic. the kind of set that someone would lose a tooth in the front row and all the next day not even mention the tooth, but mention that they saw the carrier no fewer than 20 times.

toggletoggle post by Pires at Sep 20,2009 5:40pm
Any special guests you heard of or was it all just BS?

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 20,2009 5:58pm
the wrongside: those guys are a mixture of dudes from all the other bands... They are like the hirudinea-brothers of power violence. Why does the singer carry that broken, wrapped up hockey stick.

coa: 15 minutes, how many pictures? Still one of my favorite bands ever. They dragged on time the beginning but then killed it per usual. Im always excited to see these guys.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 20,2009 6:20pm
guns up!: this is the set that they should have played at the ICC. I would definitely now say that the guns are back. Sounded excellent and the crowd was extremely into it.

TELL ME ABOUT FIREWORKS

toggletoggle post by mOe  at Sep 20,2009 6:44pm
yea, kinda wierd fireworks played this but they're a pretty sweet band

toggletoggle post by xgodzillax mobile at Sep 20,2009 7:04pm
Trash talk is on right now and they're killin it!

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 20,2009 7:22pm

death before dishonor: so many people singing along so hard. They played only a couple new songs, but it was a great set. What else would you expect from them.

trash talk: how much punishment can one band take. Their set was the musical embodiment of a stagedive. At many points, i feared my face would get ruined. The drummer is a monster.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 20,2009 7:23pm
yeah they did.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 20,2009 10:01pm
converge was m'eh. they played too short and a lot of new stuff which isnt a bad thing, but people just stood around. they has a 45 minute set list too. one of the new songs is a throwback to caring and killing.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 20,2009 10:47pm
home, working on pictures.

toggletoggle post by OldSchoolHxC at Sep 20,2009 11:00pm
People standing around for converge? That's surprising to say the least. I guess that the kids these days just don't view them as hardcore. Did they play saddest day or any other old songs?

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 20,2009 11:11pm
like 4K pictures again... damn..

toggletoggle post by Kevord  at Sep 20,2009 11:16pm
Converge played lots of new songs and was boring. Integrity was amazing but refused to play Dawn of a New apocalypse although I kept screaming it.

toggletoggle post by xgodzillax  at Sep 20,2009 11:30pm
no, converge didnt play any set staples i.e: saddest day, locust reign, color me blood red, conduit, or any of their good old shit =[

integrity raped infants!

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 20,2009 11:44pm
integrity's second song was rise. they could have turned around after finishing that song and said good night and I would have been pleased as punch.

nothing.

coa and death before dishonor did blood for blood covers, but that's the closest it got.

rev, i dont know what i'm doing in this pic. i don't remember getting contemplative at the show

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 21,2009 2:53am
heh, I clicked the "upload" and then accidentally fell asleep sitting up.

toggletoggle post by RustyPS  at Sep 21,2009 6:45am
that was the first time I was ever disappointed with a Converge set, not because they were bad, but they only played 2 songs pre-No Heroes, and no songs pre-Jane Doe

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 21,2009 8:50am
my head is killing me. I don't want to be at work right now.

No way. They played Vocal Test, Hollow, Systems overload, Abraxas Annihilation, Micha- Those who Fear tomorrow, In Contrast of sin, and To Die For. That's just off the top of my head. So good. I wish they had played for an hour.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 21,2009 11:49am
oh yes, I know, but they played rise and I love that song. Why didn't I give to die for a chance...

toggletoggle post by Kevord  at Sep 21,2009 11:50am
To Die For is a great album . The only thing to avoid from Integrity is the Integrity 2000 albums. They're terrible.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 21,2009 12:11pm
I was going to say that Integrity 2000 is the reason that I didn't listen to to die for. I might burn that Integrity 2K disc.

toggletoggle post by inject-now at Sep 21,2009 2:01pm
integrity was fucking amazing. sucks i missed wrecking crew, i thought they would have played way later.

integrity also played sarin, diehard, and psychological warfare. i don't remember hearing any "to die for" material. i wish they could have played longer.

thats not a joke either...dwid had an infant out of nowhere and started fuvking it...a little overboard? Yes, but who cares? They're pushing the envelope

toggletoggle post by keynotecompany  at Sep 21,2009 4:16pm
Surprised there weren't special guests at all after they were so hyped.
Wrecking Crew I thought would have a huge reaction.
A lot of bands didn't get the reactions I thought they would (Converge, Wrecking Crew, Reach The Sky) and then vice versa (Backtrack, Rival Mob for example had great sets).
Fun fest for sure though.

I thought the Palladium show was a lot better.
Maybe because I was watching that show from upstairs it looked that way.

I wish I went Saturday....from what I heard, RTS said it was their last show
