fixed the link........song is soooooo good. I really cannot wait for this record. |
this reminds me of old robotic empire shit sped the fuck up. it kinda rules. |
Song sounds awesome, production-wise I want Jane Doe pt. II and this most likely ain't it.
I'll still rock this shit to death. |
Sounds like shit you'd hear at a dance club, song sucks. But I figure they'll never make another one as awesome as Jane Doe anyway. |

yup yup, but then again I don't want another Jane Doe. Shit just needs to be good, hoping the rest of the cd is better. |

I do. |

I haven't given a shit about this band since Petitioning The Empty Sky and will continue to not give a shit after hearing this horseshit. |

I do. |
see I'd rather the updated Jane Doe, not just another Jane Doe like the last record wa spot on or at least the first half of the record. but this is just not good. |
i heard a bunch of these songs last time they played and they killed it. |

I really loved You Fail Me and No Heroes, and the production on both was great. I'm almost positive I'll enjoy the new material, I just wish Ballou would use the same production techniques from Jane Doe, because that analog sound pretty much IS Converge to me.
Jane Doe sonically and materially is so pleasing to Murph ears. |
You Fail Me had some cool songs on it but wasn't an album I was 100% into. By the time No Heroes came out, I had already stopped caring. |
Wellsir... I didn't like it. |
needs more shotgun sounds and babies crying |
I loved Jane Doe. But to me the quintessential Converge sound is that low end Caring and Killing raw tone. It sounds stupid to call that an under appreciated album because music nerdarrios have been rubbing it out into tissues over it for over a decade. But that album is heavy in a way that was way ahead of it's time. |
Big thumbs up so far....will definitely be purchasing this. |
I dig it. I've never really listened to any of their records, but the singer in my new band loves them, so I wanted to check them out.
That breakdown at the end is a monster of a riff.
I dig Kurt Ballou's production aesthetics too. He makes great sounding records.
What would you guys recommend as a good 1st record of theirs to get? I heard a couple songs of "No Heroes" that I liked, so I was thinking of grabbing that later when I go to pick up the new BBTS. My singer also suggested "Jane Doe".

I LOL'd. |
Jane Doe and anything before that. |
I've never been able to understand the appeal of this band, especially the Jane Doe record. I like a few songs here and there, mainly from the Poacher Diaries, but that's about the extent of my interest in Converge. |

You have to go to one of their shows. |

I have seen them live a couple times at the NEMHF, despite not owning any of their records.
They do put on a great show. Looking forward to seeing them on the Mastodon/Dethklok/HOF tour in Oct. |

LOL, I've only seen them more times than I can count. That's when I REALLY don't get the appeal. |
I'm honestly more impressed with what Ballou can do in the engineer seat than what Converge is up to. |
poacher diaries was the creme de la creme
after JD it all sounds the same |

The first time I saw Converge live I was floored beyond anything I had seen in years. Granted I was like 17 at the time, but I had seen a lot of cool shows. I gobbled up every Converge release I could get my hands on, and listened to it non stop. The funny thing was, I was never that blown away by a live Converge show ever again. The shows were usually nuts, and everyone went insane. But they're one of the only hardcore bands that eventually did more for me on cd then they did live. |
