"The amino acid glycine, a fundamental building block of proteins, has been found in a comet for the first time, bolstering the theory that raw ingredients of life arrived on Earth from outer space, scientists said on Monday."

lol haven't they been saying for years that comets play the role of both the creators and destroyers of planets?

wait, so if the raw ingredients of life came to earth through comets, where did they come from in the first place?!

The infamous question that has no proven answer (yet):

What existed before the big bang?

or, for you religious nuts:

If God created the universe, then what created God?

If Stan Lee didn't write it and Jack Kirby didn't draw it, IT DIDN'T FUCKING HAPPEN.

The universe did, it's the only thing that could have collapsed on itself to create a force of that magnitude. It wasn't the first big bang, and right now the universe is still expanding from the force of the blast, but eventually inertia will be overcome by gravity and the universe will slowly begin to collapse on itself again. Deal with it.

Don't you want to know what it's like to be sucked into a black hole?

toggletoggle post by arktouros at Aug 18,2009 1:39pm
Of course that raises more questions, like why atoms are organized the way they are, or why getting bit by a radioactive spider makes you jizz everywhere and cry about it...but I don't know. Ask God.

i'm skeptical of most corporate media but at least its not as bad as that tabloid news site known as CNN.

all mainstream news is false and distorted.

that's why I love laughing at fox news and CNN. as far as mainstream news goes, I think CNN does a better job than fox news.

but when are they going to cover the stuff that really matters?
what really irks me is when they care more about a missing person on a mountain or a murdered rich girl, than international issues that really affect the future events of the world.

Obviously, god hating liberals flew into space and planted this so-called building block of life on the comet. How un-American. Palin in 2012!

Careful dudes, I always have to point this out when I see this word thrown around..the word THEORY in science is a principle that can't be refuted by any current scientific methods. All principles of modern physics and science in general support the Big Bang theory.

toggletoggle post by arilliusbm  at Aug 19,2009 11:41am
No, but I do love reading/hearing about alternates to the unanimous "theories" in the scientific community. As we advance in knowledge and technology, you never know what can be disproven.

there's always groups of scientists where their ideas are shunned by the community.
most recently, there was the huge debate about the pygmy people they found. I'm sure you remember that.
also, the great debate about demoting pluto. the overwhelming evidence showed that pluto was near an object much like it, but a little bigger and further out.
