sabathia had the better regular season, and that's what determines the cy young. cc had virtually identical, if not better, ratio stats, and he pitched 40 more innings. the writers actually picked the right guy this time around.

yeah, Cy Young is a regular season award. You can't argue with it without arguing against the way the award is decided.

I think being the first pitcher in like 2 seasons to win 20 games is a feat that should have merited more attention than Sabathia's innings pitched this year. Beckett got shafted.

wins are such an overrated stat. the pitcher can't control how his offense performs. and sabathia had one elss than beckett, anyway. i love the sox, but you gotta take the blinders off when it comes to the awards.

If anything, his teammate, Carmona was a better pitcher overall during this year.
Hell, if you even looked at the playoffs, he did better against us then Sabathia.
Plus the strikeout number shouldn't be looked at as highly as it is. Strikeouts are like Homeruns. They're sexy for the ESPN recaps.
