I think I'll try to make it to this date instead of the next day at the Palladium; Palladium sucks, PVD is about 30 minutes closer to me, and I won't have to miss the season premier of The Office!
I can't wait to finally see Toxic Holocaust live, and of course to see Municipal Waste again. I wonder how many people are going to get brutally injured during their set? Hopefully I will not be one of them, haha.
Or shitty Worcester Palladium. I'll take either shitty venue over Mark's Showplace though, haha.
Toxic Holocaust is an acquired taste I suppose; they remind me of older German thrash metal, so I can dig it, but sometimes dynamics are nowhere to be found in some of their...or I guess I should say his...music.
the upstairs Palladium isn't half as bad for sound as the downstairs.
True; upstairs is lightyears better, but to see people try to circle pit upstairs would be horrendous. A Municipal Waste show is not a real show unless it has circle pits. Downstairs would have worked better for that, but of course all you'd be able to hear is bass guitar and snare the entire time.

The MW show I saw at Lupo's(when they opened for GWAR) had a HUGE circle pit but there was a barrier which really sucked. I'd like to participate in some singing along.

Hey John,
its funny that I have not seen you in almost a year. I asked you to set aside an amputator cd (the demo) for me, and I would pick it up at the next show that I would see you at .... and bang - you and I have been going to alternate shows like its been leapfrog.
I assume you don't have the cd anymore (if you do I'm still good for it and perhaps it could be dropped off at armageddon next time you are there.)
If you're not going to the show it is not a big deal. I find it funny that I'm going to this one and you are not going to make it.....
(edited for typos - in order not to invite spelling wrath)
I will ace the first mission in Halo 3 if getting to this show on time is said mission. But, since I have the knees of an 80 year old, I don't think I'll be pitting in any sort of geometric formation.
Municipal Waste ruled all over the place. Got in some stage dives, circle pitting action, even a couple sing alongs, but had to step out of the center area 2/3s of the way through the set after taking a few dives to the head. I thought I was gonna get knocked unconscious. Total blast.
Lamp, were you wearing a Spazz shirt? I'm terrible at figuring out who people are in real life, haha.
This was my first time hearing St. Jude, and I was very impressed. Part of me expected to hear some Nightmare Continues type stuff, but it was way more on the heavy rock n' roll side; I'll be looking forward to seeing them again. Toxic Holocaust was way better live than on CD, but I think they're one of those bands that I'd get sick of seeing after 2 times.
Skeleton Witch is the most metal band of all time. They look like Lynyrd Skynyrd and Amon Amarth had a bastard child that wanted to play Slayer songs with Iron Maiden style melodies with some Naglfar-type stuff tossed in. If there is such a thing as "technical kurlyhanding" or whatever you want to call it, their singer is the king. It looked like he was casting spells and throwing pixie dust all over everyone. As goofy as that was, it fit in and made them even better to watch.
As always, Municipal Waste slayed. The guitar was waaay too quiet until maybe the 3rd or 4th to last song, which sucked, but what can ya do. Some kid was belligerently drunk and started to fight his friend, which ended up in 5 kids kicking the shit out of him on the floor. As soon as he was able to get up, he looked at someone that had nothing to do with the fight (at least from what I could tell), flipped him off and spit on him. Then the beatings continued, and it was fucking hilarious.
Oh, and someone decided to just sit Indian style with his head down and take a nap for all of Toxic Holocaust's set, and most of MW's set...at one point the aforementioned fight was literally on top of him and he didn't move. Ridiculous.
As far as the rest of the show goes, Saint Jude was Saint Jude. You know, damn good. I've always hated Toxic Holocaust so I paid little attention to them. Skeletonwitch had some cool music but their vocalist was so god damn annoying...I wanted that guy to hit his head on the damn pole so he would shut the fuck up and the band could continue to rock out loud.
Correct. And if I recognized you correctly then you were wearing the same Phobia shirt I have.
Werd up son. I'll say hey next time I see you. Oh, and if you saw the behemoth standing next to me with the Brodequin shirt on, that's Menstrual Sweatpants Disco, aka Mike.
