They sound just fine live every time I see 'em. Weird. Do Steve Bolognese and the new second guitarist suck or something? |
i'm curious about what dt played. |
into eternity sounded terrible |
AWESOME show, definitely a fun venue as REV stated.
Setlist:
Constant Motion
Panic Attack
Blind Faith
Surrounded
The Dark Eternal Night
Rudess Keyboard Solo
Lines In The Sand
Scarred
In the Presence of Enemies Parts 1 and 2
Medley (Trial Of Tears, Finally Free, Learning To Live, In The Name Of God, Octavarium)
Interesting choice, but I enjoyed it. |
Awesome show. Missed Into Eternity and only watched some of Redemption but Dream Theater was awesome. |
terrible set. scarred would of been sweet though |
A great show. Too much stuff off the new album though. Those guys can fucking play. |
This is one of those nights where I sit down and say to myself:
"Yeah, I feel so much better about myself that I decided to sit out in my back lawn and grill dead cow."
There's a Thrashfest in Brooklyn this week. There'll be 3x as many bands, all of them will be better, and the price for adm is only 20$.
Fuck pseudo-power/prog metal. Srsly. |
when the fuck did glen benton join dream theater? |
Well im going to see this tonight. Im a huge Dt fan, but that set doesnt sound that great. I sure hope its not the same tonight they often switch it up a bit. I hate the new material except for a few songs. Looking forward to seeing into eternity as well but last time i saw them they were kinda lame.

when i saw into eternity with destruction and municipal waste, i thought steve sounded good and the band sounded good overall. i think a lot of people bashed them because they weren't sadus. (sadus dropped off the destruction tour and into eternity took their place) |
i've heard people say into eternity was terrible when they toured with the haunted, but i missed that show, so i can't really comment. if anything, it's the current singer that brings that band down, not the drumming or second guitar. |

i them at that show too and i thought it was tight musically, but ALL the vocals killed it for me. |
i paid somethin like $100 to see them play a 3 hour set once. absolutely worth every goddamn penny. they did a bunch of stuff from liquid tension too. |

yeah, i'm not a big fan of the vocals either. the old vocalist was better. |
I am glad I didnt go to the show, Dream theater apparently didnt play any songs i knew judging from that list, and I guess I can see Into Eternity this fall with Susperia anyways. |
what did Portnoy wear for the encore? |
That was a Paul Pierce jersey. |
yes, that was celtics... he's nice that way... did you catch his daughter on chimes? |

i really like the new singer actually, he can pull off some awesome halford falsettos. but it seems to me its mostly studio magic.

Of all the Images and Words songs to play, they played Surrounded? They should've played Under a Glass Moon. |
Dream Theater plays a different set everytime they come around, they actually played Glass Moon last time around. I've seen em the past 3 times and each set has been FANTASTIC. |
