I hate when people use "benefits" to help some person out in need of cash for legal fees. What did they do? Do they have AIDS? Cancer? Were they laid off and have a family to feed? Where they bitten in half by a shark? I don't fucking think so. Selfish bullshit.
This isn't the only show like this either. I think I've seen quite a few like this over the past few years.

it has already been established by DestroyYouALot that he "burned down a Pizza Hut and stabbed Papa Gino under a ski jump in Lillehammer. FACT."
but you are right, others shouldn't have to pay for his mistakes, especially hating pizza.
i wonder if this has any thing to do with the incident at the in remembrance show in nashua a few months ago.

So you'd rather someone just go bankrupt? If this were a case of false rape charges, would you rather they just not be able to have the means to defend themselves and go to jail for a crime they didn't commit? The same goes for any crime, and it also applies here.
bump. i was dissappointed that not one of the shit talkers on this board showed up to the last hammer bros show like they said they were gonna. that one dude didnt even punch jim in the face!! boy, was i surprised. maybe you just didnt get all the info you needed to find the venue? well i'll help you all out, this one is at 19 JERSEY ST PEPPERELL, MA. hope to see you and your pizzas there!

Oh, and, just in case you needed some assistance with this? Most grownups have better things to do than drive around looking for idiots to punch in the face. And, yes, posting snarky shit on the internet is 1000x cooler and more worthwhile than the aforementioned punching. Not only do I get paid to fuck around on the 'net, but if I WAS employed as a face-puncher, I'd hardly have to go to a bad hardcore show to find punch-worthy faces. Worthy targets abound, good sir.
And tough guys complaining about internet shit-talking? Pretty much equals crying over the fact that people somewhere can say mean things about you, and you can't make them stop with your intimidating stares and/or backup crew. Don't like? Don't read.

I think the more important topic in this thread is why the hell anyone would even want to go to Pepperell, MA of their own volition.

Ok first I am going out on a limb here, but I HIGHLY doubt that's the legal trouble he is in. Seriously though kids are going to blindly just go to this show to support this guy and he dosen't even give a reason for needing the benefit show. For all you dumb shits know he just needs the money to pay car insurance. Fuck that, and even if it is "false rape charges" it's lame to be leaching off your "scene" for cash and not inform people of why you need this benefit. It's all a bunch of bullshit, more kids will be at this benefit than kids would go to one for maybe a family who has a kid with a terminal illness and the family can't afford his treatment. No kids would show up to a show supporting that because the kid isn't some hardcore scene legend.

I related news, I'm setting up my "DestroyYouAlot Xbox 360 Benefit Show" soon - as a bone fide hardcore scene legend, yo, I'll be assured maximum attendance.
i have always believed in saying whatever the hell you want to anyone, at any time. but if you do so, you have to deal with the consequences of speaking your mind, whether these consequences are hurting someones feelings (but who cares), or making someone want to fight you (if someone wants to defend themselves, they must be an XtuffX guy, right?). this applies to the internet as much as in real life. sitting behind a computer screen does not give your words any less weight. it is not a mask in which you can speak freely without consequences. speak freely of course, but man up and back up your words. don't post a threat about punching someone unless youre going to do it. im not at all being a "tough guy", and none of this pizza crap even pertains to me, im not in any of these bands, im just an outside objective observer who thinks its LAME (thats right, caps lock) that kids will say insulting shit to someone, and then assume because its the internet, that person just has to take it. thats all. have a nice day.
and about josh hynes...no one is asking you people to donate your life savings. he got in trouble, needs a lawyer, and cant afford one. so his old band is doing a reunion show to help him raise money. thats it. friends helping their friends. "well im not gonna donate or support this show unless someone tells me what he did." fair enough. but an internet messageboard is no place to discuss the details of a pending court case, but im sure if you contacted someone involved and asked, they'd give you good reasons to help support a guy who spent years and years of time and money making hardcore and punk shows fun.
serious pizza fixation among you dudes. try the sub selection sometime. Supa's pizza in lowell makes a Fat Chicken Sub: chicken fingers, mozzerella sticks, and french fries covered in red sauce and more cheese and served in a 2 foot long sub roll. any hardcore band singing about that, i back.
I guess at that Hammer Bros. show in manchester, someone tried to tell people that it was ME who had the problem with the band and the singer.
yeah, ok. since I know 3 of the guys in the band, and I overall like the music itself.
unfortunetely, I think I lost a friend out of the deal, so I say fuck the internet.

i'm not sure if you are aware of why everyone is saying all of this stuff about hammer bros., but if not, i'll fill you in:
someone posted a thread a couple months ago or so about the singer from hammer bros. calling attention to someone eating pizza at a show, and claimed it's that sort of behavior that is ruining hardcore. so if everyone on the internet should be weary of the consequences of their words, maybe the singer from hammer bros. should have realized that people need food to live and that eating pizza at a hardcore show is not something to be up in arms about. now all this shit is being said about what he allegedly said, so the consequences are a bunch of people making fun of him on the internet, which is going to happen to anyone and everyone to ever live. the fact that it's about him not liking pizza being eaten at shows is why this has all been so entertaining.
and if he didn't even say anything remotely close to what it is that we all believe, then oh well. we're making jokes, enjoying ourselves. and imagine if this whole pizza incident NEVER actually happened, but the "shittalkers" were to rally up, go to a hammer bros. show and punch the singer in the face for something that never really happened...kind of puts things into a different perspective.
i never even saw anyone say they were going to punch the singer in the face on here. all i read was jokes about bringing pizza to hammer bros. shows, which would be completely harmless.
i want pizza now. why am i wasting my time typing this when there is pizza to be consumed?

yeah good fucking question...don't go to Hammer Bros shows Mr Fucking Richards! They don't need you there! Go eat some Stouffers and play with your clam!!!

the best part about this mr richards is the guy from hammer bros didnt say that, nor was ANYONE posting here at that show... but anways... it would be laughable if anyone of these kids actually tried something, especially at this show. either way, say and do as you please.

Attn: Johnny Hardcore and oh hi
Stop getting all butthurt over RTTP, grow a sense of humor to go with your paper thin hardcore scene set of balls
I do agree with the point being made that words don't carry less weight on the Internet than they do in real life, but I still don't understand why you would get all offended by harmless pizza jokes whether someone was saying it to you on a computer or in person. I mean, no matter what you do, someone out there isn't going to like it. I'm sure there's plenty of people out there who might agree with a speech about pizza like that or that might see the sarcasm in such a statement assuming it was actually there. Why not just talk to them and ignore the people on the computer giving you so much shit? Are they really worth your time? I'm sure I could say plenty of things on this forum that would get me made fun of too and if I decided to talk about them, then I would just take it and deal with it, because if anyone actually sees any less of you because of petty shit, what kind of person does that make them?
PS: I don't know anyone in any of the bands on that flyer either, or anyone involved in booking that show, never even heard most of these bands. I just think there's some common middle ground to be reached somewhere out of all this.

and once again, where did anyone say they were going to take physical action against hammer bros.??? i'm sure if anyone did, it was either clearly a sarcastic joke involving pizza, or it was some anonymous douche trying to stir things up.

Mark my words, at the next Hammer Bros. show I will stand under the venue and jump into the floor above, thus KILLING THE HAMMER BROS. ONCE AND FOR ALL
Then to celebrate we can all go grab some pizza down at World 7-3

so tragic...any donations at the door for a headstone and funeral arrangements would be very gracious and generous of you all...see you tomorrow!
Some douche that I'd never seen on the board before said "we should all go up to the singer dude and punch him in the face." Even if it was just douchebaggery, I'm sick of people making comments of that sort on the internet and then getting butthurt when others want to defend themselves. I'm a firm believer that you should only say on the internet what you're willing to say in person.
HI IM A STUPID ASS DEAD THREAD THAT SHOULD HAVE STAYED DEAD! COME TO MY SHOW TOMORROW IN SOME PLACE CALLED PEPPERELL MASS!! THE HARDCORE SHOW OF THE YEAR RIGHT HERE!

People say what they want on the Internet and you shouldn't care. Being a tough guy in person or online doesn't make you a better person.

You're equating backing up what you say on the internet to being a tough-guy. I just call it not being an asshole. It's lame that people demand they don't have to be held accountable to what they say, whether it's online or not. Especially because what Jim did and what was described here was totally different and given a separate context. You're right, people can say what they want online, but people can also stand up for themselves when untrue and overblown caricatures are written online.
And before you say "he threatened to beat someone up because of the internet. laaaaaame," just remember that he didn't actually say that. What he said was that if the people on the board kept talking about punching him and he challenged them to actually do it and not hide behind a computer.
I'm on my way now. someone go to the b9 board and make sure that it's still happening. I just got a phone call that said verses is playing the righteous jams show so I just want to make sure.
word for word: thoug I do dig pizza and all, I back the statement that this band is one of the best bands to come out of this area and I say that knowint that they are still solidifying themselves as a band. each time I see them is better than the last and they are on stage for a longer period of time. I see them becoming big like outbreak in no time. Soon they will be moving out of their first band status, especially as their set list grows. Their set started out the show with a bang. moshing almost immediately began. Jonny Limits, the singer, rolled over the PA with in the first song or so, but people pussied out on catching him. All that movement raised the temperature to an uncomfortable level already. This is going to be a rough night. especially since I saw a certain member of this board punching someone as that people was trying to help them up off the floor.
do the voices keep you company and other hot topic Tshirt saying?
resist: hm.. With a band that is as catchy as this band, you would think that more people would be into it. Especially, with the people in this band. Oh well, they don't do many shows (since one of them is a big touring rockstar on a mahor label). maybe this was a cool down period for the crowd. It is getting hot in here.
cruel hand: my first time seeing them. The guitarist from outbreak was the singer.these guys are considered better than sliced bread by a lot of people. Their was killer. Reminds me of how terror's bassist proved to be a very good front man. Oh, the singer is the guy I saw jump off the PA at the ICC, but miss and land on the side of the stage only to be back up and hopping around a second later. I would be dead.
hammer bros: josh hynes 2nd band. That kids going to sleep well tonight! Him and everyone that worked their asses off bringing a ruckus for hammer bros. It wasn't maximum stage diving yet, but there was tons of it. These guys are the sort of band than shouldn't be playing this hall-show, they should be on tour playing hall shows like this all across the US, Canada, and then tour the EU with madball. They even shouted out me, todd p, and all the photographers during their set. They stage banter went over some old hardcore stories/hostories that I had sort of forgotten myself. plus, they have a new CD that they are working on now.
shipwreck: I only saw then once on a big stage. I think that this will go over so much better. The crowd took over the stage for the first 2 songs. Just people on top of people on top of people. good thing all the equipment was pushed back to almost the edge of the stage. The middle of their set was new songs that people didn't know, but they ended with one of the songs I remember from the various times I've seen them. I was on the other side of the stage and during the build up of their last song, the guitarist stage left was stamping so hard that it was bouncing me off the stage. after they exited the stage I realize that everyone looked like a fish gasping for air. The singer gave one good speech. Granted every stage speech he girls, he sounds like mikey from the goonies speech at the bottle of the well, but he said something like "it's easy to back someone up when what their accused of makes sense. The truest test of a friend is when it doesn't"
wake up call: it seemed like a lot of people took off during their set. The audience was a little thin. I think that the drummer played guitar in cruel hand. The people that did tough it out and mosh all were up front so by the end, they were a much more sizeable set of people up there. I kept thinking about down to nothing. It's probably just the red shirt.
not that I remember. I was going to go look at the cop car photo to see if it is my photo before I asked for one. I said to some picture "i think that is my picture"
and a few people said that it was.
I didn't see a photo-crediy (the halftime.net shirt has one). granted, I think photo credits on shirts are gay. though I'm wicked surprised that you can get an image to print that nice from my web-version... scarey.
and I'm not a jerk, I just like to not/be asked about things like this. all the money goes to the benefit cause anyhow and I'm sort of proud to see 100+ kids at one show all wearing a picture I took.
or did you say above that you had to work... I forget

300 kids showing support in a small hick town! AMAZING!! Could be the show of the year!!!
yep. at the end, but they just circled the building to make sure people weren't drinking and then hung out in the parking lot. honestly that is the best sort of cop, just there to serve and protect, not to harass and arrest.
they might have been doing that. not sure. it was just nice to see cops at a show (when they weren't being paid for duty) and for them to not have their lights on. from what I saw, they just peaked their head in the door and then stood around in the parking lot while one of the guys walked around the building.
though, on a side note, my first speeding ticket was in Pepperell, MA on rt 113. I turned right off 113 at an interssection (not knowing it) and the speed went from 40mph to 25mph. bastards. then the cop asked to search my car and I said "no" when he pushed I said "it's my right to not have you search my car." and then he let me go. probably the one and only time I have ever had anything in my car that would have gotten me in trouble too. I love knowing my rights!
kinda weird, but one of the cops was pretty cool...asked me what bands played...told him and then tells me he was edge for 13 years. WEIRD!!!
That rules.

Holy shit, i just realised this show was in Pepperell. That town sucks ass, can't believe that their was a show there. One with kids none the less. My girl used to co-run a bakery there called Crumpets.
post by Johnny Hardcore at Jul 12,2007 4:07pm
I really don't know much about Pepperell....there is nothing to do there for the kids....however, we got a sweet deal for the hall rental and we were able to put together a sweet benefit for a sweet friend
post by Johnny Hardcore at Jul 12,2007 5:39pm
now that you mention Crumpets, I have a friend that used to work there...her name is Ashly. Weird that I actually have recollection of a random landmark in Pepperell.
i remember this show being hot as fuck. i want to start putting on shows at the KoC again. place just sits there un-used(musically) plus theres a bar downstairs.
