there is something special going on with a certain band on this show that is probably the "biggest" band. if you are an old school fan, go. I heard the great spauldino will not be in attendance.

ok, one band down.

get the ammo: from california. Hardcore with a bunch of songs about killing youself, killing ex's, and what I think was gang-related killings. I heard they were suppose to go on later, but instead, they got the first slot. This is the test out spot for everything and believe me, the sound must have tested out just about everything on that stage to get the sound better. At least he got the feed back to go away (from main vocals), but the only thing coming through the house was the guitar, vocals (way way way too loud) and the kickdrum. They ended their set and some guy named diablo was on the mic outroing them. he had a really funny accent.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 3,2006 1:30pm
Right now, the limiting factor for bands switching up is the sound dudes still trying to figure out what they are doing. They didn't go with charlie this year and got dudes with a heck of a lot more equipment. I think as they iron out the sound details, the real issue timewise is going to be in swapping out drum-sets after each set. That's always one of the big issues in fests. as of this minutes, there's been a band on stage for 15 minutes and the sound guy just keeps saying "AW!! WHAT THE FUCK!!!" through the monitors.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 3,2006 1:54pm
countime: finally, they got on. The second band in a row from cali. they were from LA to be exact. Like most things I saw in LA, they had one token white dude. vocals sort of stuck around eary buhdda (blood for blood) and ever included some espaņol por los latinos. The guitars started off playing so mastodon-sounding music during sound check. Adding a lot to my enjoyment, this band had two guitarists who could shred (think harder the fight). one quote from the singer that was awesome (in regards to this fest): "we try to get benefits, but all we do are carwashes." over all, the sounded great and the house sound was significantly upgraded.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 3,2006 1:59pm
they are playing black metal in between bands. that rules.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 3,2006 2:28pm
affiliated: since when did the singer sound like ringworm? great set. Way too short. They played atleast one new song (about finger cuffing a girl). this was the first time the singer could step forward and get people to sing along with out insane ammounts of feed back. I think it was only for the first and the last song that people actually did sing along. Tboner blew his load early and lost his phone on stage during the first song.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 3,2006 3:07pm
man, I hope no one wanted ice from the bathtub of ice. I just saw the affiliated's sing dive into it..

40SLS: great crowd response just like everyone time I've seen them. some parts of their set were almost non-stop sing alongs. many of the songs they played are coming from an EP in oct. I think there is one of my pictures in that EP. They played a "last song" with a big pile-up and then pulled out another song. giving the audience yet another chance to kick each other's.

I saw futurebreed for the first time tonight and then saw him get whomped hard from a mosher.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 3,2006 3:35pm
for the worse: I didn't even remember that they were doing this show. this was just like all the other FTW shows I've seen. Mike was on the floor and ran around with the crowd pushed back as far as they could get from the stage. looks like the fart in a snow suit sort of think going on. All of the typical mccarthy banter was filled with things relating to the fest. I spent most of the set laughing. Towards the end, the missing guitar player showed up. He set up just in time for the cover of american nights. AN had plenty of people singing along.

toggletoggle post by RichHorror  at Sep 3,2006 3:38pm
For The Worse rules.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 3,2006 3:59pm
bulldog courage: the singer was looked really familiar. Boston sean told me that he sang for only revenge (a band I've seen 2-3 times). the songs were similar to only revenge. Simple, catchy songs. A lot about drinking. Sort of bruisers meets B4B-hardcore. A lot of people sung along on their last song. there were a bunch of people up on the stage. familar faces indeed.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 3,2006 4:37pm
holy shit.. 16 bands to go in 7 hours. I'm already tired. This goes back to my previous statment about the necessity of amphetimines infused water. that would be super.

cheech: excellent set. Not the best crowd interaction I've seen them have but the stage is freaking huge. They have 15 new songs for a new CD, but no label. I guess they are label shopping. They sent a song out to mr. Unity, johnny hardcore, his knees, and nashua shows.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 3,2006 5:03pm
nothing left to mourn:wow, the first FSU edge shirt I've ever seen. They were awesome. Power full hardcore. I think fans of palehorse will like them. sort of mixing metal into things. This is a band for the hardcore kids to watch when they get back home and see then in brockton. Since things are running late, they had to wrap up their set quickly. They were given time for one more, but squeezed in a new one and an old one.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 3,2006 5:08pm
SAVANNAH: from canada, called to say they would be 4 hours late. told not to come.

righteous jams: had to cancel. from what I was told.

if anybody finds a blue gym bag that says NBA on the side of it, i lost it. it has all my cords, mics, tuner, pedals...alot of shit that i would love to get back. thought i left it over by the bar to the left of the stage, but i checked around everywhere and couldnt find it. id appreciate any help. thanks.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 3,2006 5:39pm
that sucks. I'm on the other side of the stage, but I will keep my eyes open. there are so many bands that someone must have packed it with their things by mistake. if anyone did steal it at a show like this, once caught they would probably wake up in the gutter and I'm not talking the good way to wake up in the gutter (re: edgar allen poe). I'm talking the bad way (re: owing money to the mob)

strength for a reason: yeah! I thought that people were going to be super lame and leave, not granting this band the respect it deserves and people have most times I've seen them, but the crowd actully moved and a lot of people moved forward. This show is running behind now. They only got 15 minutes to rock it, but they still plowed through most songs they normally do, including father.

dude your in revere good luck with that... that sucks

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 3,2006 6:25pm
energy: my second time seeing them now. The sound was excellent for them very very clean and clear. The front of the crowd got noticibly smaller and younger when they hit the stage. fun and full of..er.. Well.. Energy. people jumped around the front of the stage and rolled over other people's heads. lots of crowd "swimming." Someone scoft at my poppunk comment last time, but I stand by it. That's just what they are. They covered operation ivy and misfits.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 3,2006 6:51pm
cut throat: after xx bands, finally, brockton shows are here. This was the first set of the night with that roman's flava. It was their first show back since "the incident." they played perfectly. My only complant would be they didn't play long enough at all. oh well.

in our blood: another quick brockton band set. They had a few people out on the floor moving, but I suspect there are a bunch of people who are out grabbing dinner. It is that time. I'm starving too.. Mm.. Food. Damn, I'm glad this review of their set turned into me talking about food.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 3,2006 8:12pm
a loss for words: I had thought that they should have played right after energy, but then most of the younger kids would have left. They had tons of people packed up at the front (both young and old) who were jumping up and down for them. I finally gave into my addiction and ran to my car to get some gum.

Can’t Stand Losing: this is their CD release party as well as fallen friends. They finally got in their 7 song eps. I got back in just before their set started so I got to see the whole thing. They called all the people up to the front and then chaos insued. The speakers to the sides of the stage just kept getting hit hard. I knew ths cause I was sitting behind them.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 3,2006 8:24pm
2 1/2 hrs left and 7 bands.. hm...

toggletoggle post by xanonymousxx at Sep 3,2006 8:31pm
they didn't utilize lido's multiple stages?

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 3,2006 9:02pm
nope. they claimed not to need it.

shere khan: I was thinking that these days shere khan is sort of bigger than OBW and they should play later. They there was just one huge, long set by SK/BMH/OBW since time is running down and there are many shared members.

black my heart: they switched quickly and banged out their set. Tyler is in fact back in the band. jonathan came out and did vocals for the friendship track.

on broken wings: they tried to switched quickly and tried to bang out their set. But the house PA would turn off and no clue what the sound guy was doing. They finally were able to get up there and do it.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 3,2006 9:25pm
trust in few: this is frankie's (death before dishonor) new band. I didn't know the other people who were in this band (like rob stf) before they got on stage. They were awesome. I was completely psycked to see them and they didnlt let down. The songs were more toward the 7 seconds side of hardcore, but totally catchy. Plus, frankie makes a really great, high energy front man. so many people in the audience

toggletoggle post by xanonymousxx at Sep 3,2006 9:26pm
so when lucky 13 playing?

toggletoggle post by xanonymousxx at Sep 3,2006 9:28pm
and by that i ment bad luck 13.... haha

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 3,2006 10:12pm
bad luck 13? no, they broke up. bury you dead was added this morning. and the "big secret" is that I heard diecast's old singer will be singing for them for this one night.

since the flood: well, they got out of the studio and this show is one of their first shows after laiding down the new CD (out in the spring). They played almost all new songs. Cool to hear them finally playing new stuff after all these years. A few of the new songs are ones they've been playing for the past 6 months so some of them had people dancing. They ended with two old songs.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 3,2006 11:25pm
THE DUCKY BOYS: their older stuff does in fact kick ass. The newer things I could do with out. it's funny, most of the audience cleared out before they went on, but as they started, a lot of kids came up to the front and most of them sang along. Music like this is the reast that there are shows like this now. as I said above, I like the old stuff, but I'm not too big on the new things.

colin of arabia: they didn't play.

toggletoggle post by futurebreed   at Sep 4,2006 12:28am
