First off, Rev, these smileys are awesome The chat system need that shit.

Yep, We're getting stoked for the show. Come to find out, S.O.D. was never going to play there so we have no idea why the promoter told us they were. We thought it was kind of stupid to have M.O.D. and S.O.D. together anyways. We were thinking that they should also book P.O.D. too and make a complete set of O.D. bands.

Jackhammer and Never Say Die WILL be there, and so should YOU.

Get your ass to the show, get shit faced at the bar and get a pit going right in front of that damn stage.

See you ALL there.

-13 Winters

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 20,2003 2:36am
a guy came with a slim jim and tried for 25 minutes on all my doors.
I took the slip of metal and (having never touched one before) got the door open in two tries.
pictures are coming.

I hope the show went well though.

the asylum was nice. clean. seemed like a cool place for shows as long as you are over 21. the in between band music consisted of nu-metal and hatebreed.. though down stairs they were listening to skinny puppy. much better.

13 winters: they were all there when I got there, but when they played one of the guitarist split so the rumor is that his girlfriend went to to labor with a hellspawn and he had to bring her to the hospital*. it's the maine way! they played pretty good after the first 2 songs. they were kind of stiff/akward for the first 2 tracks. after that they got into it. I guess all their special FX got fuxxed. I'll let them explain. I do know that the stage looked like 50 pigeons blew up.

jackhammer: ok.. a band of late 30 somethings... one of which looks like you old german teacher. you would think it would suck. you'd be wrong. though the vocals weren't my thing (a little too godsmacky), but musically they rocked out. they were a really pleasent surprise. It was like old school heavy metal meets "breed to breath" era naplam death, that slow chuggy death/heavy metal.

MOD: can you say stole the fucking show? I swear I was smiling the entire time. Billy Milano was so god damn funny and very politically incorrect. Sort of like ron jeremy telling you stores.
I tired to remember them
"I said it in 85, 92, 99, 2001, 2002, and now again in 2003, fuck the middle east"
"anyone with a their ass hanging out either wants to get fucking in it or is too stupid to know how to use a belt... this song's called wigger"
"I want to kill korn"
"what the fuck, 30 years later and led zeplin is still #1"
they played do many songs. Including a fear cover. milano first talked about John Belushi and how he was an inovator, getting lee ving and the rest of fear on SNL.
Honestly, this show was great. If you didn't want to see them or were trying to decide to, don't. just go. they are playing in manchester in like 22 hours. no way I'm missing that one

*I made up this rumor.

We hadn't used out lights for about two months so I was rusty as hell, AND I kept fucking up on my keys. I was so nerved up for the show I could only get 3 hours of sleep the night before and all day I felt like I was going to pukeOne of our guitarist did have to hual ass to get his woman to the hospital, we ourselves have yet to hear what happened. It could be anything from her arm getting cut off to a plus sign appeared on the piss stick. The venue wouldn't let us use our fogger, told us that if we set off the fire alarm, we would get nailed for a $500 fine and the light gy refused to turn the house lights off so our light could hardly be seen.

Thanks Rev for coming all the way up. All the people were right up-front for M.O.D. but hey, thats why everyone was there. Jackhammer was ok, I just thought he needed to kill that vocal effect at least while he was talking to the crowd. And that bass player looked just like my high school shop teacher

NO, NO, Not Moe. He looked like without glasses.

Die was singing that way long before kittie became famous. I've been watching her since fragile frost. In my opinion, i think she's better than morgan, and i never saw kittie throw blood around.

nice coal chamber shirt, 13 winters bass player.

We spent most of the day hanging with them while they were setting up. They were a bunch of cool guys, unlike some bands they had no no egos and were very humble. We watched their soundcheck so we had already seen their show.

Unlike you, we had to be up and on the road at 6 fucking 30 AM to audition for a record label. Sorry if you feel we disrespected M.O.D. by leaving after their first song but when it comes to taking advantage of an opprtunity to get this band signed or supporting the headliner, getting this band signed is #1 on my to-do list.

And rustedangel, I'm always after the other members about not wearing ANY band shirts. It was Pat's last show with us so I ignored it. We spoke to Matt about his shirt the next day. But just so you know, since you have a problem with Coal Chamber, Pat is now in Hollow Image. They kick some ass and can very well be the next Coal Chamber.

Over and out.
-Roy, 13 Winters

coal chamber is the most brutal technical metal band I have heard in a long time, ever since nirvana.

toggletoggle post by 13winters  at Sep 21,2003 11:27am
Who said technical ever sold records or got a band popular. I know at least ten bands who are as technical as Dream Theater and will never go anywheres.

Reason why: Only bands care how much talent another band has and judges them by it. The average person only cares if it's a good song or not.

And for the record, Coal Chamber is far more technical than Nirvana. Nirvana didn't even know how to play Nirvana and they didn't know the words to their owns songs.

toggletoggle post by RustedAngel at Sep 21,2003 1:14pm edited Sep 21,2003 1:22pm
I can't believe this dood is defending 'coal chamber?' why? here? wtf?

Your going no where, because how many god damn bands play that same bullshit? 800 million. Popular? who cares if a band is more popular, does that make them a better band? Not at all...Think of all the bands that are popular in the mainstream today and how much they blow (I'm sure since justin timberlake is more popular you think he's the greatest)... but if your goal is to just get popular good luck because chances are it won't happen no matter how many 'promo' packs you send out...

i think its fair to say that rttp is dedicated to underground metal / hardcore / grind / thrash and whatever. not popular nu-metal. If you want popularity go to www.werz.com haha

DEATH TO FALSE METAL, right rev?

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 21,2003 1:22pm
I hate coal chamber.. I know that much.
it took me like 3 years to figure out that slipknot and coal chamber are one and the same.

toggletoggle post by RustedAngel at Sep 21,2003 1:30pm edited Sep 21,2003 1:31pm
i still have your old flyers, anti-korn anti-godsmack... haha... at this rate 13 winters is gonna become just as popular, so you'll have to make a new one for them. you hopefully still have those psd files.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 21,2003 2:11pm
toms you mean these

WERZ has no place where we can post a link, if they did, we would be on it.

You said we'll never go anywheres because we "sound like everyone else". Do you have the right band?

Who's Justin?

If you like us, great, If you hate us, great. As long as you know us.

How about you come to our show at club Purgatory in Mass next month, Oct. 18th and stand in front of the club with a sign saying.

"Don't watch 13 Winters, They are trying to actually go somewhere with their band therefor they are not (true) metal."

Here's another one

"To all who are (true) metal, 13 Winters wore a Choal Chamber shirt at the last show, that makes them Nu-metal."

Or

"13 Winters is Nu-metal because I have no idea what to sub-class them as. I can't be happy with just plain Metal."

See you at the show.

toggletoggle post by RustedAngel at Sep 21,2003 7:18pm
sorry, I will never be at any of your shows, unless you somehow manage to squirm onto a bill with someone I want to see.

i didn't know you guys were on it..

I might be able to make a fashionably late appearance as long as the nu-metal goth session is over early.

Not my call, we take what we can get. Oct 4th is all ages I believe, that one's going to be insane².

if they are gonna make it + something, make it 18 +...

toggletoggle post by DeOdiumMortis  at Sep 21,2003 7:57pm
I'm sure they have some reason, probably a straight up bar every night there isn't a show, which is probably 364 days out of the year since I've never heard of the place before.

But yeah, 18+ would be better, AA would be best as always.

toggletoggle post by 13winters  at Sep 21,2003 8:36pm edited Sep 21,2003 8:38pm
21+ sucks ass but a show is a show. At the MOD show, They kicked Never Say Die out of the club just because their drummer was 17.

I was pissed myself cause those guys did a shitload of promoting that show and they didn't even get to play.

toggletoggle post by nu-metalsux at Sep 21,2003 10:21pm
I don't understand why your calling 13 Winters nu-metal?? i just personaly saw them at the asylum, they reminded me alot of cradle of filth, type o negative, and my dying bride....which was really kool cause most the bands around here dont sound like that. They may not be the best band in the world, but defiently not nu-metal. You should of personaly been there, they kicked ass. Anyways whats with the labeling??

toggletoggle post by Terence   at Sep 21,2003 11:32pm
yeah the Oct 4th show is gonna be awesome. if you cant make it to the Lowell show, oct 18th. cheap plug.
