New site? Maybe some day.
I was going to have Lee Garver of GMW paint my new ESP trans white, but his quote was huge.
does anybody know any other painters? preferably in the area.
I know Al had his brother paint his guitar, how would I get ahold of him?
I'm looking to just get the top resprayed from trans black to trans white.
ooooh, pretty...won't be able to see all the hand grease on that though...but I'm guessing that you probably keep all your guitars in tip top shape
by the way, I got this same guitar with the Duncans, and I am absolutely loving it. |
and unfortunately, I don't know any painters |
Julio can, I'll see if I can get a hold of him...... |
Yea, bandmates get annoyed with how much I 'baby' my guitars.
your guitar has the see through black cherry finish with the abalone binding right? This will have black pearl and is the first ever guitar to my knowlege with these specs.
death2all, That would be great. thanks. |
i'll e-mail him right now, i'm gonna need your e-mail to give him though |

Thanks d00d. |
yes, mine is the stbc with abalone, I recall you not being too fond of that blend, but I'm digging it now.
your "after" picture there is definitely really unique looking. |
can you even do that seeing how its black stain?
I would think the black would seep too far into the maple, no? |
kok, yes it can be done, the stain doesn't seep into the maple really, and it can be bleeched out. I probably won't even haveto bleech it, probably just sand since most of the black tint is in the top transparent coat.
Keith, An autobody shop wouldn't be able to paint this, one that specializes in graphics MIGHT be able to mix the paint for me but that's assuming they use house of kolor. It would need a white base tint added to a clear to spread the pigment load, some white base coat (shimrin) and SG100 intercoat clear to mix it with, Then topcoat with UC/UFC-35 clear...
short of west coast customs on pimp my ride, not many local shops have what's needed to mix transparent white. Even so, they mostly suck and I would end up with drips in the paint. |
Ya, an auto body shop painted the guitar that I made....it came out awesome.
It's probably a solid color though, correct?
I've looked to two differnt autobody shops for a trans red refinish, both were 'drippy' |
if your in the area, go to Mark2000 in Marlboro, they'll make that shit amazing.
ive seen thier work on show cars, it'll leave your head spinning. |
Al, any word from your brother? |
