you know what i think is kinda interesting....i've met girls where they say "oh i listen to EVERYTHING" my buddy wants to take his girlfriend to see suffocation/misery index in a few weeks. now she's not familiar with extreme stuff like that, but she says "i'll go, i like ANYTHING" most of the time when a girl says she's open minded and likes anything, that usually excludes black metal/grindcore.
my girlfriend is pretty open about music, she likes rock, some rap, techno, even some country(!)....i've got her to like some metal(slayer, pantera, black label society, dragonforce...) but she doesn't like any real extreme stuff.

but i have noticed that all the girls i've met who actually do listen to extreme metal, they also like a lot of really gay goth/industrial bands, which SUCKS!!!

hey everyone has to be introduced to extreame metal sometime by someone. it is not an innate personality feature, it is something you learn. So i think you should be proud that you got her into slayer, pantera etc.. because that might be just the start. next year she might be listening to goatwhore, pig destroyer, cannibal corpse etc...

If they're gonna get it eventually, it takes people a while to understand why grunting, rasping, screeching, shouting etc. is a part of music.

It also takes people a long time to realize that it doesn't matter if you can't understand the words.
