I wish BCCA shows started earlier like ICC shows. I love going into the City around 5-6 for a show and then hitting another show afterwards.
too bad nobody else does.

toggletoggle post by anonymous at Jan 5,2005 5:41pm
it sucks but hardly anyone shows up to early shows..

the later you start a show the more kids show up on time. This will start at 7:30-8 depending on weather or not another band gets added..

toggletoggle post by whiskey_weed_and_women  at Jan 5,2005 5:42pm
it better start then cause i wanna see Jay's band then run to O'Breins to catch the Mighty Drunkiness ov Gut

toggletoggle post by jonah at Jan 6,2005 10:31pm
SO PSYCHED

we've been around for almost 3 years and this is our first release. I can't wait to finally have something out..

toggletoggle post by whiskey_weed_and_women  at Jan 6,2005 10:35pm
so is this at your place or the BCCA

and what times are Tides and Burnt Cooks going on.

toggletoggle post by Blue  at Jan 6,2005 10:56pm
i just came back from witnessing an unholy trinity practice. i hadnt heard jays new band up until now. all i have to say is that they kick ass. awesome blackened grind/thrash.

toggletoggle post by jonah at Jan 6,2005 10:58pm

toggletoggle post by whiskey_weed_and_women  at Jan 6,2005 11:31pm
i don't know they went with that lame name. if they were called Mike's middle name and then Burnt Cookies i'd so be all about it, but Unholy holy Trinity..hmm i don't know !

toggletoggle post by succubus  at Jan 7,2005 6:20am
i don't think i'm feeling good enough to go to any shows tonight :(

toggletoggle post by jonah at Jan 7,2005 12:36pm

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Jan 7,2005 12:42pm

I just posted this on the pump, but:

This was prolly one of the best nights of my life and Easily our best show. We could not do this without the kids, so thank you so fucking much to everyone that came out. the room was so over capacity..

I have to give boston SO much credit for coming out in huge numbers to a show with 4 local bands, none of which are "big" and 2 unknown out of state bands.. I was so shocked. thank you all so so mcuh. im so beat up right now I can hardly type, and i love it.

thanks rev, blue, and any other rttp-ers for checking this piece out. also, we still have no idea if the bcca is closing. they are waiting for the landlord to get in touch and be like "here's what i decided.."

toggletoggle post by KeithMutiny  at Jan 8,2005 3:02am
...by the looks of this, i think blue needed to be represented better, im sorry bud, ill be there next time, hahaha

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Jan 8,2005 3:15am
first band: a little bit too much like jello biafra, but cool. they talked about a bunch of political things that I wasn't following. people started way back in the room, but were dancing around by the end.

unholy trinity: jayganihm's new band. yes, I admit that he is in a band. in a room full of punk rock kids going crazy, they were an unholy black metal band. every time I heard the distorted bass, I thought that they were mortician, but that's besides the point. they crowd were nuts for them. at the end everyone fought over the mic, I figured it was a cover, turned out to be bullet (misfits). I'm pretty sure much of the audience left right after their set; atleast all the punks that had sut up emperor shirts on.

second punk band: they were from philly. I guess it took them 3 days to get here. something about bad mojo working in new jersey. they did a cover song, but I didn't know it.

tides: it took them a while to set up.. but finally they got started and played. it started off slow, but was pretty awesome. Some where between Isis and converge's you will fall me. they also let some spacey parts ala gsybe!/old mogwai. there was absolutely no dancing at all. a lot of people just closed their stoned eyes and swayed to the music. I would have compared them to examination of the.. but there was not even a pinch of stoner-metal in their sound. the guitarist used the same set up that the guy from burnt by the sun uses (except he never hits the switcher).

the hound: I guess it was the singer's cold last time. this time, her voice sounded so awesome. this band is a "melodic hardcore" band, but it's not like most of the others with long instrumental parts with the singer is looking for something to do while the rest of the band plays on. they are pretty unrelenting for the whole set. there wasn't time to stop for the band or the audience.

as long as were all living were all dying: they played a great set. bunches of new ones and old ones. and in the end, jonah ended up in a pig pile on the floor. they would have staarted alston again, but the drum set was already being taken away.

this was quite a rad show. unholy trinity rocked. and alawalwad was extra awesome, loving that 7 inch. i really hope the bcca stays open, i would love to play there in feb and continue to attend more shows there as well.

I think I was at this. Did Tides play barefoot with incense burning or something?

Edit: I guess that was a different Tides/BCCA show. I wanna say they were still called "Tidal" at the time.

toggletoggle post by boblovesmusic   at Jan 9,2015 1:32pm
One of my big metal regrets is never going to any bcca shows. Right in my neighborhood and I never went, I'm a complete poser :(

To be fair, there were like 4-5 right? Unless my memory's really gone, that place stopped doing shows almost as soon as it started.

And at least one of those shows featured "Horse: The Band" which counts as -1 show.
