This show was fucking awesome and couldn't have gone better. Thanks a ton to everyone that came and helped get shows at the library started in style..

Hey aaron, show review? also, one of the dudes from backstabbers said he heard you play us on your show monday night, that rules! what song did you play?

toggletoggle post by succubus  at Oct 13,2004 11:17am
I had made a request Jonah =)

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Oct 13,2004 11:24am
you requested it the week before, but I couldn't locate it.
then I saw it sitting on the top of my cds magically so I played it.
it was #1 which was the #2 song you played in the basement... that's in my review, which is almost done.

this space was pretty cool. it was like the dirty basement with out the dirt. I think that the set up could be changed to give the band more room... like maybe put the band in the oposite corner or something. anyhow, the new ceiling made it through the first show!

as long as were all living were all dying: they played a really shots set. I know that they usually play ~10 songs. this time it was only 5. I'm pretty sure that the second song they played was the #1 off the demo (which I played on my show monday). the audience was yelling of old songs.

requiem: after taking like an hour to set up, they finally started. the singer kept talking in between the songs, but I couldn't really hear him so I don't know what he was talking about until I went to the front. Before each song, he gave a story about the song that they were going to play. he's not aaron (bane), but they were pretty long stories. they have a sound that reminds me of level-plane (anodyne's label) so it's no wonder jonah likes them.

the spectacle: hm.. looks like they believe in cloning humans in norway. most of the band looked like almost exact duplicates. anyhow, they had 3 guitar players stuffed in that little corner. I was trying to decide whether or not they were good.. I guess I'll have to figure it out tonight. it reminded me a bit of scarlet and the blood brothers mixed together.

backstabbers inc: ruled again of course. this time was a bit less "eventful" than the last time. same set as the last show, but I think they played better this time. the new drummer rules. I was watching him and wondering what new bsi songs will sound like with him on the drums. At some point during their set, I decided to go to the AS220 show tonight so I stopped taking pictures and just enjoyed their set.

I haven't seen them since Quinn was the drummer and I do think Quinn did a better job.

wasn't this "new" drummer the one that filled in to play the converge show at the middle east?

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Oct 14,2004 1:34am
I thought that was the guy from the western sky

rev, we we're going for "short but brutal" rather then long winded and not as brutal. not sure how well that worked out, but then again I couldn't really see the dance floor from where I was sitting..

also, thanks for the support carina
