Having only ever been on the band side of things I have always lost money, even when I was in a band that had a decent tour. I heard that even bands that tour with Iron Maiden aren't making money, they are breaking even on world tours. Not enough people in the metal scene to make it possible as a full time thing. Combine that with all this infighting and it's no wonder the scene is dying.
