If anything, the original metroid took longer only because you had to constantly back track to areas you'd already seen over and over, which is one of its biggest failings. Super Metroid had weapon upgrades, better inventory and saving, much larger and more diverse world, control was better, a much more immersive and memorable story line, not to mention it used more than 3 colors and had one of the better soundtracks of the SNES.[/QUOTE]
