Ghoul kicked ass. They played some of my favorites from Splatterthrash, the new songs sounded cool, and there were even some unexpected theatrics from the Killbot.

ETID was horrible beyond description, but that was obvious enough already.

GWAR was GWAR. The new stuff sounded cool, I stayed way away from the front because I didn't feel like getting sprayed with anything this time and I didn't want to get stage dived on and I certainly didn't feel like getting squashed by the legions of worthless fagmos up front. This gave me an opportunity to truly observe the shenanigans in action. I'd never really paid much attention to Jizmak before, plus I was able to get a better feel for how the fuck those guys play the songs while wearing those big bulky suits, a feat in itself. The blood spray seemed pretty tame especially compared to the first time I saw them (w/ Alabama Thunderpussy and Mensrea at Lupo's in Jan. '05), but I guess the bad economy is forcing all kinds of wacky businesses to make serious budget cuts. My friends and I only watched them for 40 minutes or so and then went to Flats to get some pizza (which has expanded to ruining metal, not just hardcore anymore).

The Palladium was EXACTLY the same as Lupo's. Half the time I was standing in there I actually thought I was in Lupo's and I fucking hate that place. This was a pretty good reminder of why I don't go to shows like this... tons of overnighters who don't go to many shows throwing up the horns every chance they got, too many retard neanderthals intentionally going the wrong way in the circle pit and punching people, and just flat out too many fucking attention seeking idiots. We all had to start out somewhere I guess. If Ghoul wasn't opening, there's no way I would have ever gone, but it was a good night overall.
