Nola was a monster of an album. Visceral, honest, and the riffs... oh my, the riffs. That album paints an accurate portrait of New Orleans and the Louisiana backwoods. Such a maelstrom of clashing emotions. Depressive, violent, narcotic, and vengeful. People will bash it because Phil is on the album, but his vocal performance was unquestionably powerful.

Oh, and early Melvins rule.
