they deserve a standing ovation. i imagine everyone in football wants to move on from it. it's bad for the game, especially when the media does what it does best and blows it way out of proportion and seedy characters seeking a buck and some infamy come out of the woodwork with allegations they can't back up. add the tampering charges and the possibility of a strike coming up soon and football looks like it's going to take a major hit.
