For Lamp: Record labels don't pay for the nationals to play, pay for security, PA install, advertsing the show, riders, etc. THE PROMOTER DOES. That's why hobby rockers suck, because there are bands out there that will work harder to be on a bill than the lazy hobby rockers. That's why I don't want them on my nationals. Hey, be a hobby rocker, that's great... just don't ask to be on my bill (unless you're willing to pay to play). A promoter is an investor, so I don't invest into hobby rockers. My job is to put local bands that work hard in front of a huge audience that they normally would not get without a national. And if your smart you will sell merch.... some don't even bother.
