This is exactly what I think of when I think of 'overrated'. Bands that 'outsiders' (lulz, but ya know what I mean) suddenly thought as 'mind blowing', 'ground breaking', 'new', or some other such bullshit. The reality of it is that they don't know fuck all about metal, and they are 'overrating' these bands based on some misplaced since of musical-validation.

God dammit I can never explain what I means when it comes to these type of bands and more importantly the pitchfork-magazine-reader-circle-jerk-shit that surrounds them.

I believe that's a good thing though because it's feelings and emotions that are important when it comes to this stuff and it's hard to put that into words; you all know what the fuck I mean anyways.

But yes, shit like Liturgy is the absolute definition of overrated.

It's fucking shitty music for people that are searching for something in a genre they listen to ironically that they can listen to seriously without embarrassing themselves at their wine-and-cheese party.
