"Legendary hardcore act Negative Approach has been added to Touch and Go Records recently announced 25th Anniversary Block Party.
The band will be performing with original members John Brannon and OP Moore, along with Harold Richardson (Easy Action) and Ron Sakowski(ex-Laughing Hyenas and Easy Action).
The party will take place on September 8, 9 and 10. All of the profits from the ticket sales will be donated to three Chicago organizations: Tuesday's Child, Literacy Works, and the Thomas Drummond Elementary School. The party will feature bands both past and present from the roster to celebrate the event. Artists already announced include Ted Leo + the Pharmacists, Didjits, Shellac, Pinback, The Black Heart Procession and many more.
Founded in 1981 in Lansing, Michigan and Maumee, Ohio, Touch and Go soon found itself at the center of the Detroit punk scene of the early 80s. Early records by classic punk bands Negative Approach, The Meatmen, and the Necros quickly put Touch and Go and the growing Detroit hardcore scene into the national spotlight.
Today, the band also announced the immediate availability of Motor City Rock'n'Roll's NEgative Approach DVD. The disc includes early live gigs plus bonus footage taken from the last ever MISFITS show with Glenn Danzig as they backup John Brannon performing his own hardcore classic "Can't Tell No One".
